Although the RAF and Royal Navy have to protect Ireland too. Although, allegedly!, there's a charge for it.

And regarding the soldier stabbed in the OP : his military peers in Russia are not being stabbed by islamists, we can assume ? And regarding the soldier stabbed in the OP : his military peers in Russia are not being stabbed by islamists, we can assume ?

Probably a wise approach in some ways - for your own personal safety. Although I'd be trying to keep the women away from the soldiers. Didn't help the Ukrainians with the Germans though.
