If you have made your contributions you are entitled to your pension
no matter how much you have. Many may well already donate theirs to charity so that could suffer.
No matter this is the thin end as what next, pay as you use hospitals and doctors, pay for state schooling if you earn over X, this is how they will finance their wet dream utopia and pay for the feckless and immigrants. 50k earnings will be a high earner so coming for more on them. It’s going to happen and anyone who voted Labour who isn’t a scrounger will get their karma.

Whereas that's morally correct (and I would regard means-testing as an outrage), I'm afraid it's technically incorrect.

I have worked all my life from the age of 16 just to be told my pension will be means tested because I have savings and a private pension?

I have paid into it so am I not entitled to it?

The electorate were warned.
All those who voted Labour are in for a very rude awakening.I have a sense of foreboding.

As opposed to what? I actually have a genuine respect for life-long activists such as yourself and believe you have been incredibly badly let down but why would we believe ANYTHING a Conservative manifesto tells us anymore?

People are simply not going to be cowed by the 'it will be worse under Labour' schtick anymore.

We are in this situation with virtually unbridled mass migration, of mentally ill men pretending to be women being afforded the protection of 'hate-crime' legislation and an entire raft of other aberrations that make the average 'Conservative' target voter want to vomit in both anguish and anger.

ALL coming about under a Conservative Government who had a majority meaning that could have actually enacted what they promised us in manifesto after manifesto. Rather than pander to the whims of god knows who in terms of who has been really pulling the strings.

Sorry Willo but it is just an utter disgrace. The Conservative party got off lightly on Thursday as far as I am concerned.

And yes, Labour will be s***. We accept that. But hopefully we have consigned the Tories to history now. I hope we never see another 'Conservative' on any ballot paper in this country ever again.

Angela Rayner new Housing Minister.

She knows a thing or two about that.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I did notice that Sir Kiers tie was, on occasion, slightly crooked.
I hope this isn't an omen for future Governance.

However, his rather lovely wife was immaculately dressed and rather easy on the eye.

OK, that was probably a lie by a right-wing reformist. But let's look at the PM's lovely wife again.

Under the current legibility rules, "yes" but eligibility rules can change and this rumour is an example of such change. Should means-testing ever come in, however, I predict that it would have to be phased in in some way. To bring such a change in "overnight" would prompt a silver-haired civil war.

How about Govt Employees going into Money Purchase Schemes (ie away from Defined Benefit Pensions). That is what the majority of employees who are in private companies have had imposed on them over the past 10/15 years.

Gold plated, inflation linked pensions are a massive drain on the public purse. I get that historically many in public service were deemed to be paid less than in the commercial world but this has changed significantly in recent years.
