I don’t feel sorry for my children, at least they will have something less s*** on the front of their shirt. I feel sorry for my older son who no longer fits children’s sizes. The fact it’s a gambling company is morally wrong and thankfully we won’t have to put up with it from next season. Is it possible to iron it off?! I know some clubs have started to offer the shirts without sponsor - not sure any prem clubs do this though? Its a shame really - main reason i prefer the classic shirts

Sponsor's come and they go, i doubt anybody knows who sponsors Bournemouth, Fulham, etc, without googling, in todays new world just make sure the money is guaranteed, cynical, but that's the way it is, unfortunately.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Not sure there are many clean companies that want their name on a football shirt.

That’s right, who really cares? Some people would start a debate on the colour of a players pants ffs

I’m not being funny but is this reaction not a bit over the top. I know gambling affects many people and families and one of my best friends lost his family over it. Alcohol affects many more but we happily allow gazillions to be drunk every home game. There is no protest about us going alcohol free at Selhurst. My thoughts entirely. Its a shirt sponsor. It came to be because they offered the most cash. Gambling sponsorship is plastered everywhere, I hardly think having it/not having it on the shirt is going to tip the balance. I think its something like 13 our of the 20 teams are sponsored by gambling firms, and a few others by middle eastern firms. Its pretty much all sports washing, you are going to have to deal with it.

This deal sounds sketchy. My first Palace kit was when Virgin sponsored us. My PE teacher pointed at my top in front of the class and said "Ok mate, but no need to tell the world." I was 11. They were different times. As a side note, what was the worst sponsor you ever had on a kit that you played in? One season a team I played in had pinkish coloured shirts with Mr Butch the Butcher as the sponsor.

A case of living with it until legislation intervenes. On a personal level if it were ever possible I would be interested to know: a) How many of the top echelon of bidders for the front of shirt sponsors were betting companies - b) How far down the list would you have to go to reach a non betting sponsor. c) The financial difference between the winning bid - Nett 88 & the highest bid from a non betting company. Clearly we are unlikely to ever know.

I think the people saying it’s just a betting company are missing a big point. Yes, some disagree with any gambling which I can understand and is their right but me personally, I think if we can get the most money from a William Hill or a Paddy Power then fine. This company bets on Cock fighting. Literal animal abuse. From a country that is illegal to gamble in. We all want to rightly destroy Kurt Zouma for the disgusting mistreatment of his cat but anyone who buys this shirt and our entire club now should be ready to be the laughing stock and chastised for supporting such a thing. I don’t believe in a Nanny state. I do believe in addiction and that vulnerable people should be protected but I don’t believe many Addicts will see a betting sponsor on the shirt of CPFC and think “I wasn’t going to have a flutter today but now I will”. I think it’s low on the list of gateways when there are adverts every 20 seconds on the radio and apps on every device in your pocket. But animal abuse we should not even be having this discussion.

Not saying its right, but outside this message board I down anyone gives a feck. Global sport is held up with oil and other unsavoury money. Because the lawmakers are greedy everything has spiralled out of control to the point that (by and large) the only firms that can get involved are the ones that are immoral. We could take the higher ground, but it would be at our detriment, as most other clubs will take the money.

They were/are a DTC arm of BCA, who are stinkingly rich. So Cinch was a heavily backed, loss leading business aiming to give BCA control of the entire market.
