Personally I think a figure of over 100 is feasible. We also do not want substandard players in exchange 100% agree with this. If we have to start again next year losing MG, Olise and Eze then we should at least have a bumper transfer kitty of £250 million plus. Then it’s over to OG and Dougie to do there magic.

Guehi can go on a free this time next year , Branthwaite is tied to Everton till the end of 2025/2026 season

Riad or CR could then slot in on the right alongside MG and JA. With Ward and Clyne cover, the centre of defence looks great. I wonder whether SP and his counterparts at the likes of Everton in this case ever speak about "standardizing" the going rate for young domestic players?

Starting point for Guehi will be 50 million during or after the Tournament sky rocketing as he will be massively in demand. All these clubs saying they want this player and that player no one has come forward with any figures,so it’s as you were ,Guehi is a Palace player next season…..

Its in our control to push this as high as we want. And after a great game for England our argument has just got a hell of a lot stronger. Nobody is buying a gamble here, a young lad who can walk in to a team at the top level.

Everton aren't getting 80m for Braithwaite. He's had a good season but he played in a team where he was never left exposed. I don't want to lose Guehi, but I think 60m would actually be a good deal for the club, although that does depend on what sell-on fee Chelsea might have in place.

Reports yesterday that United could look to offer cash plus AWB in exchange for Guehi. Ignoring the fact that these swap deals never happen, I would be tempted if it was something like £50m + AWB. Have said it before but think he'd be absolutely perfect for the right hand side of our back three.

My Tuppence: If it wasn't for the fact that AWB is ex Palace the article probably would never have been written. I share your views on player exchanges hardly ever happening, however, that said, with PSR showing its teeth in the last few months I think we are going to see a rise in player exchange proposals, how many actually turn into deals remains to be seen. Have said it before but think he'd be absolutely perfect for the right hand side of our back three. It doesn't make sense for us. We have one very good RWB and 2 very good right backs. AWB will not take a big drop in wages so I see no benefit for us to helping Moan United offload players on big contracts. I think our model is to bring in young players and then you have wiggle room to increase their wages if they perform. AWB would be on top dollar. Edited by Badger11 (18 Jun 2024 10.59am)
