He can have Ferguson's locker and physio appointments.

Why do we keep thinking of employing broken players?

Of course if he has a good away day at Lourdes then it's great, but it never is.

RD is on 45K++ a week at Spurs.

How much would you be prepared to pay him on a 12 month contract?

10,20,30?

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Given the tempo at which we were playing at the end of last season fitness is going to be super key for anyone coming in and wanting to make an impact in the starting eleven.

He is very talented, but I'd rather we went for the likes of Doughty at Luton or similar even if there are transfer fees involved: getting it wrong with someone like Sessegnon would be a false economy.

Because for us to get ahead we need to take calculated risks.

In the same way that we sign players form the Championship hoping that they can make the step up.

Or a kid from Brazil hoping he can do it.

I think one of the factors here is that OG has worked with him before and it sounds like he feels that he fits the work ethic, has the ability (in areas we are lacking) he wants for the squad. Yes the big problem is his injury record but so in the past was Clyne. I agree with Furgeson he was in retrospect a bad buy but this was also mitigated to an extent by his price. Also players such as Olise have had alot of short term injuries and he hasn't worked out too bad.

I think at the end of the day it will come down to what RS wants in terms of salary signing on fee and if he fits the attitude of club he joins. I think he has the ability and work ethic and if the rest of these are reasonable then he is certainly worth a punt

Precisely. There are only a few clubs a lot richer than ours who can afford "sure" bets. And they often fail.

RS i presume. He is currently on zero as his contract ran out on 30/6.
A top championship club may pay up to £20k a week but with his injury record it will be more of a pay as you play contract.
As a prem club we can clearly offer more. Again i suspect we will make it heavily pay as you play related - £10k a week and maybe £25k for every game you start seems sensible IMHO (as long as he proves himself over the next few weeks)

I think that's too low, that would make him a £35k prem starter.

£25k base, and 15k or so for being fit/in the squad is more likely.

If the club can be sure he is fit and maybe more so keep him fit , then his talent will pay off. Might be wrong but I seem to remember Clyne originally was put on a six month prove himself contract, could be a good move here, thats if he doesn’t get a better offer elsewhere. It really is his fitness that is problematic because he has lots of ability.

I have a Spurs friend who thinks he's rubbish, but who knows whose right?

Well he isn’t good enough for Spurs hence they let him go, regardless of what fans think, that has to count for something. Now it’s up to Dougie, and OG to decide ,if he can still do it, my thinking is those two know what a player looks like, if OG. thinks he can get a tune out of him , considering what he has done so far with some very ordinary types then that’s alright for me.

as i said he's on zero at the moment and with his injury record isn't in a great negotiating position. If he drops to the Championship he'll be offered a lot less.

Pretty sure Clyne was on c£20k a week when he first came back although as the contract was never announced his previous £80k at Liverpool was often quoted.
