Although it wont happen, if Southgate is going to stick with 4-2-3-1 i would like to see these as midfield and attack.

I can imagine the first line up including neither of Eze or Wharton but would expect them to come on at some stage. Will depend on fitness I would suspect.

Usually though it’s only two to go through, so teams are scared to lose their first game because then you could be struggling to qualify, so you get a few stalemates. We’ll see I suppose, but you are right, the group stages are usually dull

Got to play people in their best positions which makes Saka the odd man out Eze and the Chelsea bloke straight swaps for Bellingham and Foden Bye the way that was the worst opening gig in history ,they would have been better off hiring the Crystals
