I like a lot of other Palace supporters are walking around in a bit of a daze at the moment.
Having got almost everyone back fit under a new progressive attack minded manager, together with 2 outstanding mid season signings managed to finish the season with a flourish.
The icing on the cake surely has to be having 4 players in the final England squad for the Euros.
But the shining jewel on top of that cake at SE25 has to be the fact that we managed to retain the services of Dougie Freedman. He clearly feels that there is yet more to be achieved at 'Project Palace'
The title of this thread is 'Think Carefully' well that is exactly what every other Premiership manager will have to do next season if the nucleus of this team decide they want to stay together and each squad position has a real quality backup.
If that transpires we the supporters will be on for one hell of a year in season 24-25!

Every new season is a gamble... injuries, form etc... however, it seems like a win/win situation if everyone stays for another year.

I see rubbish on social media all the time at the moment claiming United are in the lead to get Olise or Chelsea are confident they can get him. Any of our players do well at the Euros and the speculation and media frenzy will only get worse.
But...
The reality is from what I (and i'm sure others) have learned yes Olise has a release clause in his contract that is believed to be over £60m but there are all sorts of obstacles to overcome. First of all that release clause only applies if you can offer CL football. This rules out Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle and United. Yes they can still bid for him but its going to cost a lot more than £60m to get him. Another condition is game time. No one is going to spend that kind of money just to put him on the bench but we all know Pep ans Arteta refuse to give any player any guarantees on playing time. Then (assuming a figure is agreed) Palace are in full control of how that fee will be paid. To frighten clubs off they are well within their rights to demand the full amount up front or maybe insist on a nice little 20% sell on agreement. When you look closer at it from a top 6 club's point of view Olise is expensive. There are cheaper alternatives out there. Another thing to consider is the buying club's finances. United for example have to get rid of high earners before they can bring anyone in. Chelsea have to sell £60m worth of playing assets before June 30th or they will be in breach of FFP. None of these clubs will fancy blowing such a big part of their budget on one player. Particularly a player that's not desperately needed. Finally, there is the fact that none of our players are aggitating for a move and all have indicated they are very happy.
For me? because he can be replaced and we'd get bit money for him and he has yet to commit to a new contract I'd sell only Guehi. That keeps the bank manager happy, keeps our team together and also funds a couple of incoming signings.

That all sounds right to me.

Agree with all of this, but would we even consider any bids for our star players for this window, given we finally have all our ducks aligned. Granted there are financial pressures, and greedy agents, but let's for one season keep the team together and see how far we can go. After the break up of the Team of the 80s, Noades selling Wright etc. All those 'what if' moments in our history that led to future failure, surely the club owes us the fans a year when we have red hot crack.

This may sound like a stupid question, but I don’t know the answer.

All talk of release clauses, if a bidding club meet all the criteria of that clause does the player HAVE to be transferred regardless or can he say I don’t want to go there I’m happy where I am.

You cannot force a player to accept a transfer. Supposedly Chelsea met Olise's clause and he turned them down.

Its not just about other clubs, to me its more about other Managers, with Glasner, so far, everyone is playing the role they want, a couple more years at Palace will improved all of their standing, no rush to go anywhere, if we were to keep all our players, with the edition of Kamada and Ryad, apart from Man city is there anyone with a better first eleven than us?

Your assuming only English clubs would be interested in Olise! He could go to PSG or other rich European clubs in the CL.

Are you an agent? If not, you should consider it!.
Very valid points.

Agree, would love to see all our best players at the club when the window closes
