It’s not the least farcical! It’s so logical that it is self evidently true. The internet has changed our lives in many ways and this is but one. People can now find like minded people in many corners of the world, exchange views and build communities without getting out of their beds. You have only to read some of the contributions here to recognise the truth of this. When this phenomenon is being exploited by the enemies of western democracy, as it is, by spreading misinformation and stoking conspiracy theories designed to undermine confidence in our governments, you can begin to understand how dangerous it is. So just dismissing it as an “oped” is a big mistake. It’s actually really important. In many ways I would agree. As to radicalised or influenced by foreign powers, the bigger culprits would be the rather obviously orientated media. That most people have had enough of the propaganda and attempted social engineering is then of no surprise. Perhaps that's why many become part of like minded communities on the internet. What some people watch online is frankly disturbing. However, most average people can just go to work, get on a bus or go shopping and see stuff going on with their own eyes and form an opinion and then find people online who've formed similar opinions should not mean they have to be demonised as radicals. It's mainly because they've had enough of having crap shoved down their throats wherever they go. It's become relentless.

The third worldist thinks that it's others who are a threat to the west. The never ending projection.

What is new is that the stuff is different and whereas in the past you formed opinions after a pint or two with your mates in the pub now you find mates online. Many of whom you never meet, nor know who they really are or who they have been influenced by. They might not be radicals at heart but they are being sold ideas which are radical. One of which is that you are having crap shoved down your throat by the media and government working on behalf of some shady desire for a New World Order.

It is as absurd to believe in no so called conspiracy theories, as it is to believe in them all. Some have been proven to be true. Many, I'm sure, are nonsense.

Is this, yet, another Wisbech thread? He's had more than Willo.

If a theory is proved to be true it is no longer a theory. Until then it is just a theory, many of which are sensible working hypotheses, involving verifiable facts at their base. Conspiracy theories exist only in the mind, pulling unrelated events together and building conclusions out of nothing other than a desire to see a bias confirmed. The murder of JFK has attracted many such theories, often as a result of mistrust and suspicion of motives. There is though no proof. So conspiracy theories they remain.

Of course there is no proof, because it has been removed, obfuscated and misrepresented by those who are responsible. Would you seriously expect anything else? Please be sensible. You are the joker who keeps using the phrase 'conspiracy theory'. Something is either true or untrue. When organisations assassinate someone or wish to hide a secret, they will do their best to make sure the truth is obscured. They can always rely on useful idiots to claim that any suspicions are the invention of nutcases. It makes the job easier. To make crass statements about 'proof' is kind of missing the point.

That is, I regret to say, just another conspiracy theory. Quite obviously so in fact. Without evidence it cannot be anything else. Proof isn’t “crass”! It’s an absolute necessity before any certainty is established. Having suspicions is perfectly healthy. Claiming something must be true without proof isn’t. Those who are prepared to believe without proof are the foot soldiers being enlisted by our enemies to spread disinformation and undermine our democracies. They need to wise up.

So following your logic. If a murder takes place and the culprit is successful in hiding any evidence, then it is not a murder but just a conspiracy? Many people, mostly Black, thought that OJ Simpson was innocent, and he was aquitted by a jury. Does that mean that he didn't do it? Your reasoning is two dimentional.
