We'll probably lose a whole bunch of stars for BIG MONEY for Parish, then we will wait, and wait, and wait, all season in the transfer window for something to happen, and I predict that IT WON'T. If Parish thinks he can survive another season without spending I believe he will, based on the last 11 years. Remember the last few games of last season? I hope I'm proved wrong, but I'm saying this in advance of it happening. As I write it's 2-0 against UTD - half time. If you are not a troll, you are living up to your username

I'm not a troll. I am 68 years old, raised in Croydon, and a big Palace fan. At my age you get to see things repeating over the years that younger people don't. I wrote the OP because I want supporters to be 'onto' what Parish has done over the past 11 years and let him know that we want it to stop, to encourage him to stop underfeeding the animal. I am keenly mindful of the lack of silverware in Palace's show-closets. We boast about being (arguably) the OLDEST football club in HISTORY. Even if not entirely true one would think we'd have something to show for that! I thoroughly enjoyed watching OG's Palace over the last few weeks and am super-positive about what 'could' happen. On current form, we could easily be in Europe with an FA cup under our belts. We obliterated the best teams in the best league. I personally think that keeping BOTH Olise and Eze is key to a top four position. Those two together add up to three. But I understand we may not be able to keep them through no fault of the owners. I just want Parish to know that the supporters are onto his business tactics, so that he chooses not to pillage the players over the off-season. I want us to enjoy a full off-season with OG with a full squad to start the next season sprinting out of the traps. I'm not a neg-head, I'm just old and mindful of what has happened before. This club needs SILVERWARE! It's a disgrace, our historical achievements compared to other teams. I want us to actually enjoy a decent season and a trophy, or two. COYP!

This post should win a prize for being the most depressing thing ever seen written about palace whilst their winning a football match. If you can’t enjoy these moments you can’t enjoy anything. You need to reassess your life and find out what is actually making you unhappy because there are bigger factors at play here beyond football. What a miserable miserable post.

Every Palace fan wants Silverware and to keep our best players. I don't really agree with your perspective around the rest of your post but recognise the frustration that creates it. As I posted before we haven't been 'underfeeding the animal' or as I think you mean underspending. We are 11th in Premier League net spending over the last 5 years. And we haven't been pillaged at all in the last five years. Only Wan-Bissaka has bought in any significant cash. It seems like we hardly spend anything in comparison to other clubs but that's because we hardly sell anyone to fund new players or break the financial fair play rules. That means we have failed to produce or develop players who other prestigious (rich) clubs want at the better wages the improved ambitious players want. Until now. The recruitment has been good over the last few years (though I await with hope for Franca to come good next season) and the development has been much better - but perhaps only really noticeable to the wider world in the last two months! Generating a lot of interest in those players. I am sure every Palace fan agrees we want to keep the current team together for next season. But that may not be viable for the owners to fit into the financial fair play. I think the owners will be looking very closely at this. A better team on the pitch is good for them too. But the players who have release clauses may have those triggered. Both Eze and Olise had the contracts renegotiated so I trust / Freedman Parish got the best deal there that was possible. The lack of opportunities at the bigger clubs in the champions league and dismal state of Man U give me hope for one more year with them both. We need a bit of cover in the squad. Wing backs. But on the plus side we don't need to spend any money at all if the current form of the current squad can be replicated and (unlikely) everyone stayed fit. As for Silverware. I have thought both ways on this. We have been within 10-15 minutes twice of winning the FA Cup. Had that gone the other way would I be happier than now if we were in the lower reaches of the football league like Wigan and Portsmouth? At times I have thought yes when the threat of relegation seemed a permanent feature of being a Palace fun with pragmatic football grinding out results. As relegation was surely inevitable with a season of bad luck (my bad mindset) please give us a taste of glory. Right now, after a decade in the premier league, it looks encouraging for a more progressive system of play with a manager who aspires to more than grinding out 40 points and has the players to go with it. He can get better performances from all players, whether destined for the elite clubs or not. So do we 'need' Silverware as a club or do we just really really want Silverware? I think what we really 'need' is a better and bigger ground to grow the club, fanbase, finances, bring in players more easily and I think the owners have really let the club down by not getting on with that 5-6 years ago when the planning permission was first granted. I still can't believe that building is going to start happening this summer. But the current success on the pitch must now give the owners the incentive to sign those construction contracts.

I apologise oddball, I wrongly assumed after a lot of your posts you were one of these Aussies who pluck a premier league team out of a hat since we’ve been promoted and call themselves a ‘supporter’ when they’ve obviously not been anywhere near selhurst. Well I'm a year younger than you. Yes I would love to see Palace win a cup, and although it's something of a poisoned chalice for a club of our size, get into Europe. That's where I stop agreeing with you because I don't think you have a clue when it comes to running football clubs in general and Palace in particular.
