I just hope it doesnt happen the same way the last foreign manager one Frank De Boer, at the first home game v newly promoted Huddersfield, i was there, the players didnt know what they were doing and were thumped 3-0. Smart move keeping Paddy as a transition. Palace win tomorrow 3-1 and Selhurst in full voice COYP.

I believe Glasner will have to go with 99% Royball for this one. I don't see how he can change much in three training sessions and will have to trust McCarthy. Maybe he can work on their mentality and mindset for the final 20 minutes. No clearances, always passes out, until the very end. I think clearances these days, especially against weaker teams, amount to very poor defending. 1-0 Palace. Agree, wont be able to change too much too quickly. We performed well against Everton, but fell apart when we scored. Glasner and team on the side-line reminding hte players to be brave and play our game will be a huge help. Also because there have been chats between Paris and Glasner for months, I suspect he's had the enviable (unenviable) opportunity to watch all our games without getting pulled into the weeds. So suspect he'd come straight in on day one with a few ideas to address some little issues. 3-0 Palace

No prediction, just a statement. We have to win this game. Burnley are not pushovers, but they have 13 points. Anything other than a win, and the icy hands of the Championship will be getting a firmer grip.

I have made a 2-0 prediction a few days ago. However, this afternoon I am filled with a sense of foreboding to the extent that I am now of the opinion that we will either draw or get narrowly beaten. My brow is corrugated with worry.

Burnley have to go for the win, that will play into our hands. They concede lots of goals and once behind their heads tend to drop. After Everton the new manager bounce will also give us a boost. Oliver has already said he will go for goals. Lets hope so as we have never been able to defend a lead! 3-0 Palace

In all honesty, Roy could have won this game. We have far superior players, including our current injuries. Any defeat would come from a lack of confidence and/or nerves, however the team will be bouncing with confidence from the new manager. I also suspect Selhurst will be rocking and the players will be keen to impress both fans and manager. We may start a bit cagey, due to the short amount of time Glasner has had but I imagine he will allow the team to be a bit more expansive and not sit back every time we take the lead. Players like Edouard, Ahamada and Franca (if played) could have a huge impact. 3-1 Palace for me.

As we now know Eze isn't quite fit for this game & Guehi, by the sound of it, is a couple of weeks away, same starting 11 as Everton?
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Of the last 12 Palace managers, only one has won their first game - Pardew. History isn’t in our favour.

Interesting stat and not surprised, after all ex players always score against us, teams on poor runs of form always beat us, injury ravaged sides always over perform and beat us! My glass half full side tells me this feels different so I’m going for a rocking, raucous 4-1 victory and a massive post match sing song in the Cherry Trees (unfortunately without me).

I will stand by my earlier prediction of 2-1 in a close game. Glasner says no new players out and none returning yet, but Eze at least is training again. The following opening quotes would make for a great Glasner song in the near future when results start coming! //qte// Edited by Fanofzhiyi (23 Feb 2024 2.34pm)
