Out of curiosity, does anyone know exactly what happened to Roy on the training pitch and then what the hospital said was wrong with him?

He's been a wonderful manager in his time - not least during 2 difficult periods with us, but also with a host of other clubs throughout his career. A neverending gent and palace legend. I wish him all the best for whatever his future holds.

But when phrases like "stubborn old dinosaur" are being hurled around, it's very hard to distinguish between the two.

Jordan Ayew described Hodgson as a 'father figure' in the video on BBC - [Link] I think this was a nice tribute. I always think of Ayew as being very quiet and modest but his character really shines through here. Has been and is a very good player for us, seems the consummate professional and I'm therefore guessing a very valuable member of the team, even more so than I perhaps realise sometimes.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Jes Rak-Sakyi thanked Roy and described him as a '' Legend ''. The vitriol directed on here by some people towards Hodgson was getting personal. And based upon zero first hand knowledge of the man.

I noticed with Roy, the older he got, the scratchier he became. In the end he became downright angry and rude.

Becomes harder to cope with and adapt to change as the brain ages which is why it's beyond remarkable that Roy has lasted in the game as long as he has (Colin not far behind...having said Palace would be his last gig well over a decade ago).
