Besides wishing Roy a speedy recovery to full health, I hope he feels profound relief at no longer needing to worry constantly about the performance of his team. Secondary to that, of course, was worrying about how he was perceived by journalists and fans who, by job description and nature, tend to believe their understanding of football is superior to his. I suspect he didn't worry per se; but I suspect he occasionally felt, to use one of his favorite words, aggrieved. As I raise my glass to his service to the club, I hope he will raise his glass in gratitude for no longer having to hear chirps from the peanut gallery. He's a better man than most of us.

Tbh, bit worrying about your outlook on things if you can't see that. Some people just couldn't wait to use this sad incident as ammunition

Not really - nobody has any personal dislike of Roy. People were just fed up with the results and the manager, inevitably, gets the blame. I think that everyone recognises Roy has been a great club servant and stepped up when required. We've had the bad times and the good. Now, I'm sure everyone wishes Roy all the best. No one would wish him any harm - even his greatest detractors. Even those would still thank Roy for his service - it's the kind of club we are. We all move on but personal stories still matter to us. Get well soon Roy. Couldn't have expressed/put it better myself my friend..!!

If Hodgson returns we will need to install a bath chair in the dug outs. Much better that he continues to convalesce in the Nathan Ferguson Suite at Mayday Hospital.

Sorry to tell you but Roy is being replaced. I never doubted that and I'm pleased he is for his own good and long term retirement health as I suspect whoever takes on this job will not be able to save us with the current squad unless there is a dramatic change in our injury crises and even if that were to happen we will still have our issues with high balls in to the box and lack of a good striker in the final third that will probably be our downfall!
