So do we keep Ward for another season? I would sell Eduoard and cash in on Olise or Eze to finance our transfer budget, Get in a decent backup striker I think defo keep Ward on for another season as back up for a center back and let the rest of out of contract players go. Transfers we should be looking at back up wing backs, centerback and striker. We could save a bit of money if we bring in Danny Imray, Tayo Adaramola.

Joel Ward has served the club admirably over the years but he will be 35 this year and I believe it is time to move on. We have gallivanted down the alley of extending the contracts of players in the twilight of their careers much to the chagrin of many supporters and I suspect it is in Ward's interests to play regularly at a club lower in the pyramid rather than just as a 'Backup' at CPFC.

Got this back from Simon Stone on BBC if of interest to anyone: Nick: Hi Simon, A great start for Glasner at Palace followed by a crashing back to reality. What would you expect from him and therefore what expectations can Palace fans hold? Thanks in advance Simon: Well, given the furore around Roy Hodgson’s departure, the first thing I would expect is a more expansive approach to the game. That has to be combined with results but given how awful Burnley and Sheffield United have been, that Luton are struggling to pick points up and Everton and Forest are both facing charges for breaching Premier League regulations, I would be staggered if Palace end up in a relegation fight. Palace did move in this direction before with Patrick Vieira. Glasner clearly has more experience – and a stronger track record of success, so in theory, the appointment is an exciting one. But, as you alluded to, Palace’s current reality is what it is. Eberechi Eze scored at the weekend. Michael Olise didn’t play. Palace can’t be the attacking force they want to be without those two operating in tandem.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I know its the bbc, but them & sky really do seem to think we are just a two man team & when they are out(which is quite a lot) we're rubbish, tho possible true sometimes. On the flip side, as long as they do keep thinking that, it means we have more chance of keeping our star players & we can quietly go about our business of staying in the EPL for another season at least. just my thoughts.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

If they move to a top 6 club that may not be an issue. Those clubs have good enough squads to rotate, unlike Palace who flog em to death and then wonder why they get injured. I would hardly call, playing one game a week as flogging them to death. Top clubs rotate players as they involved in midweek euro and cup games, we aren’t . Expecting a player to play once a week, seems a reasonable ask.

Take a look at this seasons schedule. Top clubs rotate because they can and you use different players based on opposition as well. Edited by grumpymort (04 Mar 2024 11.51am)

He could have at least added 'who knows about next season with rising temperatures causing possible flooding and freak weather events. Here's an update on Crystal Palace women - attached and can you fill in my diversity questionnaire - attached. Thankyou, Simon he/him.

I think his high wages will put off most potential suitors so he will be with us next season will see out his contract and leave on a bosman.
