Wharton clearly is going to be an extremely good player and, given his limited experience generally and in the PL, has shown plenty to be excited about. His passing, vision and ability to carry the ball is going to be so good but I think was has surprised me is how good defensively he is. Saw a stat on Sky that he has led us for interceptions since he joined which is brilliant.

Munoz won't get the same recognition but I think has started extremely well. He is absolutely perfect for the attacking wing back role that we look like creating and he's genuinely exciting bombing forward. Have been happy with him defensively as well.

Overall two very good purchases to further our successful business in recent seasons. Just a shame we don't make a few more of them!

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I think he protected Ward well his pace making up for Joel's lack of.

Both look great additions to the team and badly needed at the moment.

The progression of Eze, Olise and now Wharton from the Championship will hopefully encourage other talent in that division to look to Palace as the stepping stone instead of some of the bigger clubs.

Jack Clarke from Sunderland could be the next one?

I read somewhere that Palace's record of bringing on young players was a reason that Wharton gave for joining us.

Couldn’t agree more - seems like money well spent! Though Henderson is another thread altogether!

You certainly didn’t read it on here!

I believe he said it in his interview with Palace TV when he joined (but my memory isn't always correct)..

Yep, Wharton & Muñoz, two fantastic new signings and settling in well already.

Would be great to get the equivalent to Muñoz on the left hand side plus a quality striker and a left winger in the summer. Guéhi fit along with Eze, Olise & Doucoure and we will have a selection headache plus the much needed strong bench!

Superb the both
Wharton looks better than Cole Palmer and a certain future England player

Lots of talk about the brilliance of our front three, quite rightly, and suggestions already that Wharton could be selected for the Euros, understandably.

But it seems to me that Munoz' contribution often goes unnoticed, or at least, unmentioned. Watching him yesterday chasing the ball and running endlessly all over the pitch, making timely tackles and sublime passes needs a word or two. His cross which gave Mateta his second goal was exquisite.

Munoz was a first rate acquisition and there's no doubting he will be a stand out player for our club in future. I'm a big fan.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Couldn't agree with you more; the rumoured price seems like an incredible bargain - I wonder if he was a Freedman target or someone known to Glasner?
Its also interesting to see that Mitchell is increasingly adapting on the left side; slightly more defensive and provides good balance.

He is a typical example of why I have previously suggested that you don’t have to break the bank for decent players. Bargain future stars are out there if you are willing to put the time in to find them.
