IMO, the best way to show discontent/demonstrate is not to turn up to games @ home. I know people have paid for their ST's, BUT, an empty stadium is not good PR on TV. No matchday income from the club shop, no matchday income from the bars, no matchday income from the food outlets, do that a few times, the Board will soon take note. Just my thoughts. Right, i am not going then

I look at it differently. I invest my hard earned cash into this football club. I buy season tickets for me and my son year in year out. I spend added hard earned cash in the stadium every week on food and drink. I spend further hard earned cash on merchandise every year in the club shop. I even spend more hard earned money i graft for traveling up and down the country following this team.. now after spending all this hard earned money which is just a pish in the ocean the players and owners. I feel like the club are taking me for a ride a little bit. Let me ask you this. If you had a contract with sky sports every year and every time you tuned in to watch a game there was no sound coming out the speakers. Or the TV kept blinking. Or you couldn't even get signal. Would you just sit and grin?? Of course not, I’d get on the phone and get them to sort it, because THEY’RE IS something I can do about it. If they didn’t sort it to my satisfaction then I’d give them the elbow. At Palace there’s nothing I can do about off the field stuff, so I have the choice, carry on going and put up with it and hope things get better, or I give it all up, which after 49 years of going would be hard to do.

There's a lot of truth here for me. You could say 'what on earth would we all talk about all of the time?' however. I'm certainly not against the usage of discussion boards etc. It's a passion for us, a fraternity as fans. It somewhat defies logic to say we shouldn't discuss, moan, gripe, theorise, speculate etc. I'm not big on the whole 'protesting' thing though. It's something I would hate to see at our club even if I understand the sentiment behind it. Bit too much arrogant entitlement and unhelpful/nonsensical rage in that for me. Recent administrations, Crystanbul, relegation fights and Wembley appearances have really epitomised the best aspects of our support base, where we truly do pull together for our common love and goals, and I'd like to see that return. My guessing is that if fans are unhappy, Parish as one example will be very aware of this. Boos, whistles, social media posts, general atmosphere/noises etc. will give the message and I suspect he will react. We're not the kind of club that can let swathes of fans just walk away to be replaced by another batch, a la Man U. We need to be together, in alignment, to see any business and footballing success. I am expecting changes, not least as Hodgson will leave, but when and to what extent I've no idea. The other scenario would have to be Parish letting us slide into the C'ship, not doing anything, and just milking the business for all it's worth whilst the club suffers. I can't imagine that is anywhere near possible (although we'll all tell ourselves it is). It's a bit sh!t at the moment but I am inclined to grin and bear it, hoping for a new dawn on the horizon and cheering on the Palace, when we play, regardless of whatever else is happening that is most certainly outside of my control. I reserve the right to moan and whine on here however COYP
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

It seems that the general malaise that the club has shown at boardroom level is now spreading through the fans and whole club. The failure to invest in the squad over the last 2 years (since Vieira was appointed) has left Roy with a hugely imbalanced squad. It's like we've done half a job and then left it. We are now slipping backwards as a result. If the board got a couple of players in earlier in this window then that may have given the fans a lift. Instead we are waiting to see if anyone comes in at all. It wouldn't surprise me if there are no additions. I commented after the summer window that I wouldn't be surprised if there are problems at board level and I think now it appears this is probably correct. SP has become a remote figure, who only posts on social media when there is good news. That hasn't happened much recently. Expect a bumpy/boring end to the season. i think the first window under Viera was fantastic. I agree we have not moved on since.

I have decided to boycott the Sheffield United game in protest at the way the club is being run. The fact that I can't get there thanks to ASLEF is mere coincidence. If only we had a couple of strikers as good as ASLEF.....
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Board discontent ' by becky This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium protests' by becky your assumption that i want palace to finished higher in the league year after year has made an ass out of you and an ass out of me. if i had meant that, then id of actually said we should be going for the title by now
did you know currently in this division only 8 teams have spent more consecutive years in the Prem than us? i know this is a good sign. But do you not by now think, by now, rather than flirting with relegation for over a decade year upon year. we shouldn't we flirting with reaching a European spot? I'm not asking for every year we do this.... . . . but come on!! we should have at least flirted with hitting the spot IF NOT MAKING IT ONCE DURING THIS TIME!!..... are you ok with how every season mirrors the previous? can you put up with another 10 years 1 win in our last 12. 6 wins in 24 is a joke. shambolic transfer windows!! And last night our season ended for yet another season going out of the cup at the 3rd round YET AGAIN under Roy! what do we have left to aim for this year? what's our target? i know the answer. its to stay above 18th spot. I'm done with this i want us to aim a little higher even if its only for 1 year. look if your happy with supporting a dead team with no ambition and are happy to finish somewhere between 12th and 17th all while other teams are coming up around us finishing higher and doing greater things, then all good. im happy for you

Having looked at your profile, I'm surprised you're the same age as me. You must remember the decade+ we spent in the Championship, Edgeley Park, Hillsborough etc? All you have to do is look through the current Championship and League One tables and see numerous clubs with bigger stadiums and fanbases and a more successful history than us, who would bite your hand off to be where we are today- which by the way is the most successful period in our history. There is an assumption from some that we should automatically be finishing higher in the table each season, without considering there are 19 other clubs in the division also trying to do the same. Perhaps we should overspend like Everton and Forest have? Football is a results driven business and results will always take priority over entertainment. Without Eze and Olise on the pitch at the same time, we simply don't have the quality to play any other way than being gritty. We're going through a minor rough patch which will not jeopardise our PL status this season. There is no need to get your pants in a twist. The issue - which I think we're all feeling - is the general boredom of being a consistent mid table team with very little excitement. It's what Charlton had 20 years ago and is just the reality of the situation - that's not the boards fault. Good luck with the protest.

We will be fortunate to get 6 points from the next 6 games. Our record over the past 12 games has been diabolical. Really don't understand why changes haven't been made. We are watching the team slide out of the Premiership and all I hear is that the boys 'done' well and this is when they are playing badly! Keep Olsie and Eze and start again.

At the end of the day, nobody is in charge of the club, transfers, direction of club, etc, Parish with his 10% holding and 25% voting rights seems to have alienated Textor, Harris and Blitzer who all seem to want to sell instead of invest funds, how we get out of this mess i dont know.
You are going by media rumors, you have no clue what is going on, if people really are arguing or want out. Harris & Blitzer from day 1 had no intention of investing in playing squad this was made very clear straight out of SP own mouth and was later confirmed by Big Sam who did manage to get them to loan the club something like 30m for transfers. The areas which are really lacking is on global scale we have multi American owners yet do not even have merchandise for sale in US (If you want Palace shirt it needs to be ordered from outside US) Things like that are unacceptable for a club which has been in Prem for over a decade. Sponsorship deals do not look to great either. Media production feels amateur as well (SP own company)

Yes it’s boring under Roy but he will be gone this summer and let’s wait and see who we get. We’re not in the same mess as Reading that’s why they’re protesting.

It would be nice to be in a position when we didn’t feel the need to whinge about how the club is run. The last time was under PV when they splashed out on players, before that probably the first year under Pardew. Before / after a succession of firefighting managers and Simon Jordan. He had total control over the decisions and we know how that ended. I think the current owners are extremely lucky that a bad season for injuries and a thin squad coincides with some v poor teams in the PL and what looks like point deductions for more than one team.
