It's odd that he hasn't been able to be successful elsewhere. United, Cardiff and now, seemingly, Galatasaray all seem to have been difficult for him.

I was trying to find out if he was having a difficult time at Gala but it doesn't seem like he is. He has played in 22 games and missed another 9 through injury according to transfmarkt.

He has 8 goal contributions in 15 league games, and is their second highest goalscorer behind Mauro Icardi despite missing so many games through injury. He's played in 7 ECL matches which for him was what he wanted, to ply his trade on the highest stage.

On top of that, he's in the 99th percentile in the league for goals per 90, goal contributions per 90, dribbles per 90 and in the 98th percentile for succesful dribbles per 90.

It might be a lower level league but it doesn't look like he's finding it difficult. Not sure why Gala would let him go, unless they are trying to raise some quick cash?

Another two goals and an assist today. Clearly past it.

First two goals in the game as well.

Galatasaray are in a two-team race for the title and in the Europa Cup. Unless there are personal issues, I cannot see why the team or he would want to part company

I think it’s just an easy headline - lazy journalists have flocked to Zaha in transfer windows for years now.

I still sometimes check out Galatasary results.

I notice that Wilf is rarely in the starting line-up these days and the goals have also dried up, the two quite possibly connected.

However, he may well end the season with a medal for winning the Turkish League.

And no, I am not calling out for him to return to Palace, but I do wonder where he will be next season.

Three words spring to mind
DODGED A BULLET

Well documented we offered him £200k a week on a 3 year deal. He should have bit our hands off - madness to turn down such a lucrative offer.

In my opinion - we got the best years from Wilf

Where in our set-up will fit & who will he replace?

No, no & NO again

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Higher chance of him coming back now Hodgson has left, I cant see him wanting to come back here though.
I reckon he will be off to Saudi Arabia.

The mountains are calling & I must go.

He would have made the difference in those run of games when we drew 1-1 or lost 1-0.

He can't go on forever and even if he comes back at best we would get another 2 half seasons out of him. We have done the hard slog without him this season. It's time to kick on and try our best to keep Eze / olise now.

I think that Wilf has to be regarded as an impact substitute. However, when to make the substitution? Should his outside football (and CPFC) interests help him to decide that his place is in South London, and he is happy to contract to fees for being named on the bench with minutes giving him more pay there is temptation.

There is the question of pace.

Still a firm no from me, would much rather sign a youngster that perhaps Glasner knows of or who is on his radar. That whole Bundesliga connection must’ve put a few new names onto Dougie’s watchlist.

Agreed. Be thankful for Wilf's past service and move on.
