Well the reserve fixture feared a week or so ago has been put to bed with two strong sides being named . Everton putting a girl in goal has given me confidence of a good win ))

Mitchell for me has really improved a lot in the past month or so. Really impressed with his work rate , aerial ability and support play. I’d love to see Franca and mateta running at their defence more, both working hard and there is definitely something about Franca. Very positive

Not a bad half - we’ve had our moments.

Decidedly mediocre. Well done to ITV for moving to their minor channel. The uncommitted will be bored silly. Mateta only seems to be win a header in defence. Hope our tactically minded (?) manager can come up with something in the second half.

One of the joys of digging out some old vintage football broadcast is finding the half-time pundits are the likes of Brian Clough or Lawrie McMenemy, or even a Bobby Charlton, Geoff Hurst or even better a Jack Charlton.

A game where we’re poor at the start but have grown into the game. Mateta looks good, Guehi excellent, as was Henderson, a few nice touches from Franca but not enough from Eze and Schlupp but we know Eze can produce something out of nothing. Everton lively generally and looked good for first 25 minutes. We need to stop Danjuma and Coleman is getting too much space, but Schlupp is marking space rather than players running through. All in all, not bad but we are not exposing how slow Everton are at the back. It’s the sort of game Zaha would have had a field day.
