I rather liked the way Thomas Frank singled him out at the end of the match yesterday to say a few words to him, even though Michael was largely instrumental in Brentfords's defeat.

That was a bit of class.

Imagine if he had a lethal right foot as well. He probably scored that Di Canio-like volley to avoid using it.

When we were posting on the possible transfer of Olise i was gutted at the time he might be leaving. When he started at Palace his first touch was possibly the best i've seen and his left foot was and is like a wand. His work rate though was lacking and he was extremely one footed. However, he has improved rapidly since. He now, at least to my eyes, is covering the most ground amongst any of our players and he can also now got past players on both sides and cross with both feet. Given how long he was out for it would not have been unexpected if he took a long time to get back up to speed but this has not been the case.
From these observations it is not unreasonable to include Olise as well as been talented is a fast learner has a good engine and a determined individual.
You never know when a player will be at their peak but it is probable Olise is not there yet.

The question is whether we will have him next season. The odds must be less than even.
There has to be a good chance he would move to the continent. He is prone to injury and the premier league is a very physical league , just look at Kevin De Bryune, the guy gets targeted and kicked and looks like he won’t be walking after he’s 40.
I just hope we get good money for him, I would estimate around the £70-80m range.
He is still pretty raw, has never played in the Champions league, has already been injured quite a bit, so it will be a gamble for the buying club that he stays fit.

An unbelievable football player. In my book he is already light years ahead of Wilf in the amount of talent he has. I would give my right arm to see him at Palace for a few years but the next offer that comes in for him will be so huge that the club will have to say yes.

Why is everyone so keen on selling him? He signed a new 5 year contract 6 months ago.
I enjoy watching him play for Palace, but others seem to want him to go for big money, thats no benefit to me.

Exactly my thoughts it's not like the board would use the money to bring in oven ready replacements.

Southampton used that model and for a while it worked until they went too many times to the well.

We should do all we can to keep out best players by trying to improve the squad.

Of course we all want him to stay. It’s just reality and to be fair to him, why would he want to stay with us rather than play in a bigger team in bigger competitions?

Sadly that is the reality of the situation.

Which of the posters on this thread is "keen on selling him...for big money"?

I believe every poster, so far, recognizes that Michael is a rare and special talent. I am also confident that every one of us would want him to stay.

HOWEVER, Michael has shown that he will control his own development through the football pyramid as evidenced by:

1. His release clause in his Reading contract
2. His release clause in his first Palace contract
3. The apparent fact that the clause in his Palace contract included his right to say 'no' to a move even if the release clause was triggered, which has been reported to have been what happened.
4. It is possible (even likely IMO) that his current contract includes similar clausing albeit with a higher release figure

IMO Michael will leave us when he believes it to be in his best interests which I suspect will be when a big club offering him regular football meets his and his contracts criteria. I suspect that may be as soon as this coming Summer, sadly.

In the meantime, let's all sit back and enjoy his wonderful skills.
