However, Nkunku then scored and I can see him doing the same against us.

Agreed. He's a massive upgrade on Broja and Jackson by the look of it

Palace should have one game plan to go and win. With Sterling and Palmer missing Chelsea are so much weaker now. Olise and Eze can cause a lot of issues. I would be suprised if Palace don't get a draw minimum but a Palace win should be targeted considering how poor Chelsea have been.

Chelsea paid £52 Mill for Nkunku.

Apropos a prediction, I would not be surprised if the game ended 1-1.

I can't remember many Boxing Day celebrations, we always seem to have been at the mince pies.

I was older than 12 (!) but I recall this debacle.

Borge Thorup was introduced from the bench and I have a feeling this was his only appearance for the club.

Watching the Wolves game I was delighted that neither Cole Palmer or Sterling (their two best players) will be available.

I also noted how Chelsea defend corners - it was like watching all-in wrestling.

When, if ever, is this going to be cracked down on?

Very difficult to monitor half a dozen defenders all holding attackers. I think Mike Dean once tried to give yellow cards but that was just one match and he never tried it again - probably due to instructions from on high.

Refs now instructed to 'let the game flow' so any foul has to be cast-iron to be given. Not surprising so many disputes and never-ending 'rolling around in agony' simulations.

To this old guy it is not the 'beautiful game' any more!

As others have said, we'll need to get stuck into them to get anything from the game. Hopefully Roy's been playing Twister with Mrs H and the sherry has been flowing!!
Heart says 2-1 Palace, head says the usual pathetic boxing day 3-0 s&@t show.

I think we can be competetive in this game given the suspension and injuries at Chelsea and given they are a young team and we have a couple of days extra rest. I am going 2-1 Palace.

Chelsea have been creating a lot of chances in their games but they just haven't been finishing them. With Nkunku presenting himself as the possible answer I think we may struggle in this one. 2-0 Chelsea.
