Not a team that stays in this division IMO.

I see what you've done there DM, play 12 & confuse them.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

At the moment it won't take much to confuse our team, they already seem bewitched, bothered and bewildered. Even if we play 10 at the back and leave Edouard to resurrect the old 'Gerry Queen' role up front (older fans will remember the valiant GQ) It didn't work then and won't now.

It is difficult to feel other than pessimistic about this game and the upcoming December fixtures.

I am getting so much flack at my golf club it is dispiriting. Even the Luton fans there are cook-a-hoop. Things can only get better for them.

Probably 999 ... someone call the police because it could be murder on the pitch. After our dismal performance on Wednesday, Liverpool will seek to capitalise on dropped heads and shoulders.

I'm not at all optimistic about our chances of winning this game, but at least I'll be looking for some fight and bravery on the pitch. Both were sadly lacking the other night.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

It will be interesting to see how we set up tactically.
Against the better teams Roy usually looks to block the spaces through the middle and in and around the penalty area.
Wide areas are left relatively unmanned with the responsibility left to our defenders to deal with crosses.
This is a dangerous tactic v Liverpool who concentrate their attacks in wide areas, creating overloads down the sides with lots of pace.
A game for a 451 or 541 formation designed to avoid being hit on the counterattack or exposed in wide areas.
Sadly I still can’t see us stopping them scoring or being able to exploit the space left behind their attacking full backs.
Bring back the Wilf of a few years ago!

Mitchell is out and quite possibly Olise too.
Perhaps a game to play direct and bypass the midfield with Edouard and Mateta up front as a two.
Surprise them.
Otherwise it could be another damage limitation exercise undone when Liverpool score the first goal.
We won’t outplay them, so we have to find other ways.

Has been tried but the only people likely to be surprised will be us. Mateta is likely to fall over his own legs rather than score and Edouard only marginally better.
A 1-8-1-1 line up looks likely. If the manager was devoid of ideas in our last 4 matches what will change?

Liverpool win 5-1...

You're asking me what it's all about, and I can't tell you because I don't know what's going on myself.

I don’t disagree about the merits of Edouard and Mateta, but feel that at least Liverpool would keep 3 defenders back so as not to leave them unmarked.
If Doucoure, Eze and Olise aren’t playing we won’t be able to pass through midfield and our best bet may be try to make the game as ugly as possible.
Luton drew with Liverpool by mixing it up and were very unlucky not to draw with Arsenal using the same methods.
Make it like a cup tie.

It’s probably academic as we don’t do it anyway.
We’ll sacrifice half of the field ,sit deep, invite pressure and wait for their inevitable breakthrough.

Johnstone

Richards Guehi Andersen Clyne

Hughes Lerma

Ayew Edouard Schlupp

Mateta

At least that team is a bit taller and might not concede from another sodding set piece.

Schlupp to man mark TAA. Olise to be used only if we somehow still have a chance with 30 minutes to go. If he were to get injured too then we may as well just pack up and go home.
