I still think the ultimate outcome will be a slap-on-wrist fine after appeal. And I fail to see any winnable cause of action from the relegated clubs. Also stop gloating. There but for the grace of God we have been!

There but for the grace of God we have been! GTBH - don’t get the “stop gloating” part..!! If it was us in the same scenario - do you seriously think we would get any sympathy from them - err that would be no then..!! After what happened at Goodison with all things Vieria and their fans - I consequently have no sympathy for them..!! They have been breaching the rules that the rest of us abide by - so in simple terms “cheating” - they can dress it up in any way they want but that’s the bottom line..!! If I feel sorry for anyone in this scenario- it’s Leicester and Leeds - IMO both better teams than Everton last season - but Everton stayed up and have now been duly sanctioned because they cheated..!! I just wish the Premier League had dealt with it within the season as the Championship have done on numerous occasions - then the right outcome would have been achieved in that either Leicester or Leeds would have rightfully stayed up..!! COYP You're right, no, but I don't think the behaviour of an Everton fan is one with which to set your standards.

If the sale of the club still goes through then the people who are really responsible for the mess at Everton walk away without punishment. Their fans aren't responsible, many of whom like any fan of any club are just normal, decent people who love their club. You can hold two seemingly opposing views in thinking the punishment was right but that it is tough on the fans.

I don't think they'll go down with the deduction so it's not worth the constant wailing on Sky Sports News or by MPs. What that is about is likely making sure there are no more points deductions for Chelsea and Man City because an interim process will be in place, or some such.

As for "not the fans fault" well in the case of Everton I bet like most club's fans they were demanding the club spend the money.

It was only a few years ago they somehow got Ancelotti. What a fall from (potential) grace.

You can hold two seemingly opposing views in thinking the punishment was right but that it is tough on the fans. As has been reported, 777 has many issues. They basically made their money by convincing old people to sell their annuities. Now they're playing with fire by aggressively investing insurance policies in football clubs. The management includes a current convicted drug dealer. Mark my word, if they become owners it'll make the current owners seem like it was heaven. Edited by Daddyorc (23 Nov 2023 11.27am)

On the relegation perspective, just seen Awoniyi is out for months with a groin injury too. The promoted 3 + Everton + now Forest should be straightforward enough to finish above and that's before considering Bournemouth. Maybe if Everton put £20m on themselves staying up, they might fix all their financial issues...

Now being sued by Leeds and Leicester but Burnley also jumped on the bandwagon - so £300M in potential lawsuits; That with the cost of a new stadium cost of £760M and climbing.. Only potential saviour on the horizon is an investor with a chequered past at best that look like won't pass the Premier Leagues "owner and Directors" test; Could we be witnessing/seeing the first major casualty of a really major club going into oblivion..!! Things speciously don't look good..!! Are Tranmere still in the top Divisions - could be the next Merseyside Derby..!! COYP
