Weird but very nice. Did Chelsea bottle out or did something else happen?

Apparently Olise watched some footage of Stamford bridge games and wondered why there was no noise except from the away end.
And although he doesn't say much, he loves the Palace Noise.

Well done Parish Dougie and really happy to secure Olise for FOUR years.

Brilliant news. So pleased for many reasons. We'll get to see more of MO's silky skills, sends a positive message to rest of the squad, sticks a finger up at spoilt brats Chelsea, might help Eze sign a new contract and at the least when MO leaves it'll guarantee we receive a decent fee.

I wonder how long it'll be until the rumours start of a 36m release clause.

I can only echo everyone elses positive response to this news. We now just need to get him fit quickly and get Ebs to commit for another season at least.

When MO signed from reading in 2021, it was a 5 year contract, i.e. 2021 - 2026. Salary according to reports 47500 per week.

His new 4 year contract, 2023 - 2027, is 100,000 per week.

So it is in reality only a 1 year contract extension, but clearly we have used some of money left from Wilf's offer to fund a big salary increase. As one of our star players, who can fault him for that.

Nice quote from SP reported in the Mail, says a lot:

"We'll try to do one or two more things next week, but this makes us all feel a bit better. Michael's got his own mind and people have got to make decisions about their own life.

'We have given him the room to do that and the fans will love him all the more for making that decision. I think Michael will go right to the very top of the game but right now, for his development, this is a good decision."

Well done to MO for making the right decision!!

Chumpsea aren't happy, even reckon there's a new minimum release clause.

Olise signing a new 4 year deal doesn’t make a scrap of difference. Hall just signed a new long term deal with Chelsea yet he’s off to Newcastle for £30million … it just means Palace can now command more than the £35million release clause previously in place. Olise is a Chelsea boy and so’s his brother.

Now, there is someone on here who posts on said site, is it you having a wind-up(great if it is)?

Ah! Just seen.

I can absolutely guarantee it is not.

I'd also ask the question of how Olise commanding a much higher fee would be of any benefit to him whatsoever if he was angling to leave Palace and wanted to join Chelsea? It's almost directly the opposite. Sounds like an embittered Chelsea fan to me and they're no strangers to embarrassing themselves.

Speaking of, I'd also like to address a previous post of mine on here in which I fully revved the engine and to counter my heartbreak went both barrels in on MO to speculatively attack his character. I'll make it my life's ambition for the foreseeable future to make amends and will happily stand in any metaphorical stocks to receive the rotten fruit and veg being flung.

We still need transfers, don't get me wrong, but this is fantastic news. Almost a tear jerker/fist pumper.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I can't believe what I've been reading the last few weeks on various sites. A few hours ago the BBC was joking about Palace being the bullying target from the big clubs or something like that in a very scornful way.If we were to believe even a tiny percent of all that nonsense, by the end of the transfer window we would be without Guehi, Andersen, Doucoure, Eze and who knows who else. So I would recommend to all these << know it alls>> and << I'm told that>> to step on the brake a bit because the difference between rumours, facts, 100%certainty and ridiculousness is very small!

Well played, Steve, Dougie, Ray and Roy. Common sense over over hype. MO has along career ahead and our team have a lot to teach the young man.

Then they wouldn’t get their clicks, which is really what all the bull is about.

Great job by all at Palace - and definitely the best way for Michael to get PL game time, he'd just be an after thought at Chelsea.

Now get fit soon Michael. Can't wait to see you not celebrate scoring a goal for Palace again.

I don't mean to pour cold water onto this piece of news but eagleman may have a point. Consider this: if MO has stated internally that he would like to move to Chelsea, then perhaps Parish had a quiet word with him and his agent along the lines of "Look boys, if you want to leave, how about we sign a new contract and you go to Chelsea for £100 million release clause...think of the higher percentage cut you'll get out of a deal..."

hats off to palace, they were always gonna be louder, and hate to say it but they were impressive ALL bouncing and singing.
