If there's any truth in the Chelsea rumour then maybe we can have Madueke back, seeing as he started with us and Olise started with them. I thought we gave him a new deal to remove the release clause though? Also, are Chelsea really going to risk buying a player who is out with a long-term injury for a position they are well covered in?

Chelsea will buy him and then loan him out to Strasbourg….that’s my guess.

Despite everyone shouting Eze, Eze, Eze, it is Olise, for me, who is the real diamind. Please don't let it be true that we'll sell him. His value, imo. should be on the 60-70m mark

If there is a buy out clause then this will be a done deal in 5 minutes. If there isn't, then £39m including add-ons is quite a long way short. Harvey Barnes went for a similar price and, whilst I think Barnes is a better player currently, Olise has 4 years of potential to surpass him.

I find the Barnes move to Newcastle a weird one. It’s like winning the lottery and then going for a meal in Pizza Hut to celebrate.

The Athletic reported in 2022 that the contract had been altered including the release clause , it’s not clear if that meant no release or a higher release clause. One outlet says £80mll another £50,mill all the usual media crap , but a good chance £35 mill is not the figure. Edited by Putitout (23 Jul 2023 8.42pm)
