Or it is a Chelsea fire sale and they were told they HAD to go; and this destination offered them the best money and European football. I imagine they would prefer to play 1st XI and will set out their aim to achieve that. However, failing that, rotation/bench is a well paid 2nd best. Either way, probably a move with more cache than coming to Palace which anyone would consider a lower order than AC Milan, despite the Prem/London/starter issues.

My concern with Hudson-Odoi is one of attitude. Will he be an Eze and want to prove doubters wrong, or will he a Dele Ali and just want the pay cheque. His application and attitude were previously questioned at Chelsea, so it is a genuine concern. On paper he should be a great signing, but so much of how far a player goes is dependent on their attitude, perhaps even more so than ability (although of course natural ability is important). He hasn't really done much to shout about in recent times so it is all very much an unknown and the fact Chelsea might (supposedly) be willing to go as far as terminating his contract should set some alarm bells ringing.

A lot of that was likely down to game time. He'll get much more here, plus he won't complain about not being in the Champion's League squad because there isn't one.

Its definitely reason for concern. And not a recipe for success, but I have some confidence that we are a good environment for players to thrive. Especially flair players. We also don't have a massive squad, so more through lack of options, we cant swap and change players after a bad game.

Also he wont get anymore a week at AC Milan than he will at us, about 80k, 15 less than Edouard Benteke 2

I think this is the type of player we should be going for. Young, obviously talented but lost his way a little. He just needs Roy and Ray to give him a little kids, tell him he's pretty and boost his ego like they did with Eze and Oli.
Why would anyone chose to be a Seagull? The Eagle is a far superior creature. The Seagull lives under it's damp pier meekly looking out, blinded by the sheer quality of the Eagle's palace. |

Yes, seems to have done nothing since he got a massive contract at Chelsea a few seasons back (supposedly c£100k a week) and had a poor loan in Germany last season. He is young and exciting, but it is clearly a gamble. I can see Palace wanting to do a loan and option to buy deal. I suspect Chelsea want the money upfront.
