Was it that we had a string of tough games under big Pat or he didn’t have clue? We will never know, but the players are playing with a smile on their faces now which I rarely saw under Pat. Can I dream of 2 wins on the bounce, why not. 2-1 to Palace. Or 3!!! Strange territory I know. As others have said, I'm sure it'll be a tougher test but hopefully we can start with some confidence and the pressure will be all on Southampton. A decent performance and a point or more would be good for momentum.

If we play on the front foot with belief and confidence like we did against Leeds we’ll win. If we go into our shell Southampton will beat us.
The beatings will stop when morale improves. |

We need to start the game akin to our starting of the second half at Leeds.Furthermore, we cannot afford to give away free kicks in a central position just outside the penalty area as we are all aware what Ward-Prowse can do in such a situation. In terms of the Southampton team, I have been impressed with their 18yr old midfielder Romeo Lavia whom they signed from Man C for a fee which could reach £14 Mill and there was also a 20% sell-on clause included in the deal.

Heart says 2-1 to palace. Mind suggests 0-0 most likely outcome , though palace slightly favoured in betting markets, and southhampton slightly favoured in expected points by 0.09. I choose to believe in the power of free markets and back palace to win.

It is nice to look at this game and think you have temper your predictions as opposed to thinking if we cann get a draw or will we lose when we were out of form playing the top teams. Edited by viveasheagle (11 Apr 2023 1.29pm)

What does their age have to do with it? Another spin might be "Olisé and Eze are young, and maybe they can turn it on for the full 90 minutes instead of just the 45 against Leeds"

Edited by Willo (10 Apr 2023 9.16pm) He certainly did, and then he picked up a winner's medal in the final. A medal that a couple of years ago he announced he was selling "to raise a few Bob for the kids". He's now aged 78.

It's another MUST win and I cannot contemplate a defeat. Fortunately, our tails are up going into this game which may prove to be helpful?

Basically, we ain't out of the woods yet, and have to keep fighting for every point. That's true. We need to get as close to 20 more points this season as we can

They are fighting to avoid the drop just like us, so draw away will be good result!

I disagree, because we will have quite a few more opportunities to pick up the points we need to stay up. I call it a BEST NOT TO LOSE!
