i think it is a no brainer as Wilf Replacement, but even more important is Morgan Whittaker from Plymouth, the best player in the Championship, ideal Olise replacement and also plays Left Wing Back
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

Total hogwash. My contributions are an amalgam of personal perspective, statistical information etc etc , and communications with an array of people with insight and knowledge whose opinions I respect. For the record, I have in the not too distant past opined about the footballing prowess of Jack Clarke, a player I have seen perform on numerous occasions. Finally,I will refrain from being drawn into a debate whereby I am minded to counter scurrilous accusations, accordingly any further brickbats will go unanswered. Where have you seen Clarke play on numerous occasions, as Sunderland is a long way from Shoreham by sea.

With respect, my comments were in direct response to sentiments that Clarke was "Sunderland through and through". With equal respect, that is why I edited my post to include the opening words.

With respect, Bamford is a central striker whereas Clarke is deployed out wide, mainly on the left.Clarke provides a great deal of energy, has fast feet and his ball-carrying ability is admirable. Ah that's different, my ignorance. That sort of player we do well with. Indeed, up to the last manager, rapid, counter-attacking wing-play is central to our DNA.

I’ve been one of the main protagonists asking for a Wilf replacement but as Elpis said somewhere else, with a change of style, maybe the wide players lose their importance and we could see width from the wing backs and the tricky players we already have playing in the old inside left and inside right positions. Accordingly there may be a change in our dna moving forward. Not sure how happy I would be with this, but if it works it works.

This is a typical Willoism…Implying he has been to games and seen him play on ‘numerous occasions’ when what he actually means is that he has watched Sunderland on the telly once or twice. We have been through this before

Whilst 99% of Willo’s posts are a summary of information and research from the internet, in fairness to him he did on one occasion say that one of the players we were linked with could score with both feet

This is so very kind of you and I am honoured to receive such compliments. I will just ignore some of the antagonistic and inaccurate comments designed to denigrate a fellow member, hoping for a reaction.
