I would be wary of picking up first team squad players from Chelsea or high profile youngsters like Broja due to cost, I am not convinced we will get any bargains we will still have to pay top dollar for the like of RLC or Gallagher assumming we have any money. However I think that Chelsea have a good academy the chap who played last night has just been released by them and is definitely worth a look. I think Chelsea will struggle to offload some of their overpriced big name players so may be forced to release players lower down the ladder to cut costs. That is the market we should be looking at and then hope they come through in 3/4 years time. Quite. Raid their U21. Let other clubs buy their overpriced 1st teamers. Sad as RLC and CG played their best football and got their caps with us.

Hopefully that informs decision making for any future talents. I think for both the above the real test for them would have been staying at Palace for multiple seasons. That way you either really prove your worth, in which case a move to a big club is well earned and planned. or return to a big club with your career potentially going backwards or falling into complete obscurity.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

According to click bait Chelsea have to sell players before 30 June to avoid FFP sanctions. I don't know how true that is but we should put in a couple of cheeky low ball bids for some of their players, the worst they can do is say no. Regardless of FFP (which may be true ) Chelsea have a big squad on big wages and no European football to look forward to . They will be giving players away if the player can be shifted off their contract which is going to be the problem getting anyone from Chelsea . Basically the wages will mean the fee will have to be very cheeky indeed

Let them develop them, and then swoop in with a serious chance of playing first team football! Especially with a RB, keep ward on for another season and slowly introduce him with an aim for him to be starting in the back half on the season. We've seen first hand with Connor and Marc that their kids are a step above the rest. And even with RLC, they have so many talented players that would hugely benefit from a different environment and some game time. The 1 thing we can guarantee them, is that we aren't going to go out and sign a £120m player in their position!

Lewis Hall looked very promising when he started to break into their first team under Tuchel. With all the summer signings he has dropped back into reserve squad. We should consider this kid as he has great potential and I'm sure will want first team football now he has started to get a sniff.
Some people are like Slinkies … not really good for anything, but you can’t help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs. |

Not sure we need Abu at RB, we have a certain David Imray in u21s, who looks pretty good to me

If you saw the documentary about our Academy (and even if you didn’t) you’ll know it’s a ruthless business. The question isn’t whether Imray is good, it’s whether Abu is better. I have no idea either way.

With Brentford having to re start their academy (under the new league rules) I would imagine that will provide a lifeline for a bunch of academy coaches & some youngsters to explore.

We need someone to come in and challenge Ward. If Imray is ready, great. If not would Abu? If not we need to go and find another.
