After seeing Southampton playing yesterday with little heart for the fight I think they are gone .
It was a decent result for us but they were pretty poor in all departments . Their fans turned on the team , never a good sign on the direction of travel which is toward the Championship .

With at least one of Liecester ,Everton or Leeds to join them there will be no gaurentees of a quick return either .

FT Arsenal 2 late goals make it 3-3 - tough on Saints.

Arsenal drop points again and they were fortunate indeed.

Quite the entertainment!

I think performance was more damning if Arsenal however will provide some inspiration for saints.

We shouldn’t need to fear Southampton in any circumstance but grateful they didn’t get all three in the end!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It was a good game to watch as a neutral. Decent result for everyone but the two teams playing as they both needed a win.

I don’t like the fact that so many teams have several games in hand at this stage of the season. Brighton have only played 29 vs Arsenals 32 and that isn’t going to change anytime soon as they have to play a cup match. Citeh will go top if they win their two games in hand but again, when are they going to catch up?

I may be missing your point, but why don't you like it? It's always been the case that if you or your potential opponents progress beyond the 4th round of the FA Cup, then you will accumulate games in hand.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Southampton fans must feel worse than we did a month ago.

Great opportunity for Southampton and blew it. They're not in a position where they can afford to lose points even against the top teams.

Why multiple games? Should only be one maybe. It is advantageous to know exactly what you need to do in each game more particularly if a team knows that a draw is sufficient for their needs.

Thats the plus side , on the minus you could end up playing every 3 days at the end of the season when your players are knackered or on suspensions

After this weekend it's Southampton, Nottingham forest and who ever looses when Leeds play leicester, Everton are not leaking goals like the others, Think Everton are going to scrape it and stay up , But Bournemouth could get dragged down and be a surprise victim.
