I reckon he has played his last game for Palace . I hope im wrong but think by his reaction on Sat , it doesn't look good . In a way it might be a good thing in the long run , not the injury of course but we have to get used to playing without him sooner rather than later. We won on Sat so have all week to prepare for life without him against Leeds . Will be interesting to see what the set up is without him . Hope you are wrong on all counts

He was looking very good in the first half against Leicester but equally Olise and Eze were also combining well on the other flank. Thought we were not so threatening in the second 1/2 but we did take 2 of the chances that presented themselves.

His reaction Saturday was probably because he had put everything into the first half performance, he cares and he doesn’t rate our chances without him. Happily it didn’t turn out that way. We don’t know how bad he is we will find out Sunday. Unless it is leaked before that.

Whilst it seems to be an unpopular opinion, and bearing in mind for me anyway that he has been by far our best player of recent history and up there for Palace GOAT, I align with those who look forward to seeing Palace perform without him. For the last decade I have not only struggled to envisage but genuinely feared, deeply and I'd suggest logically feared, a Wilfless Palace. We have some better players now than previously plus Wilf has definitely lost something in terms of dynamism (whilst his finishing/directness has dramatically improved). I'd strongly suggest his departure or retirement will be the end of an era, it's just a question of whether we will see a new one. If... if the team perform without Wilf the belief in that new dawn will be very exciting. I am also hoping that without him we see a shift in mentality and performance from players who are only the latest cohort in wanting to see all our play revolve around him despite holding their own individual and collective capabilities. If Wilf declines further and the team still relies upon/looks to him, our performances and points tally will equally suffer. My love and gratitude for Wilf will never die however my willingness to see him in the team is diminishing and I am not despaired by his absence as I may once have been.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Tactically, I would assume his progress will be kept a secret as long as possible.

Both times i did it (playing footie straight after work so unable to warm up properly) i did a quick movement from a standing position, just like Wilf. Edited by palace99 (05 Apr 2023 11.31am)

With all these injuries now creeping up on wilf of late can't see any "top" side other than a mid table team signing him maybe he will sign a new contract after all.

If it’s not to serious, it’s better he misses 2 or 3 weeks and be 100% fit, then he would still make the last 4 or 5 games. Rush him back early, break down again then he wouldn’t play again this season, and possibly never for CPFC again.

A bit on newsnow stating he is out for 3 weeks due to the results of the scan so that prob means 2 as he is a fast healer . so he will miss Leeds Southampton and Neverton and possibly Wolves .https://www.caughtoffside.com/2023/04/04/crystal-palace-news-wilfried-zaha-out-for-three-weeks/
