Since 2016 it's cost Everton £50m to get rid of Roberto Martinez That's a lot of toffees.

Arrogant, smug, opinionated and generally objectionable individual. Add in he deliberately incited the crowd in Palace’s away game last season then refused to condemn same crowd for invading the pitch, manhandling the opposition players and manager plus waving lit flares in their faces. No wonder Vieira snapped and lashed out at a couple of them. But Lampard couldn’t see a problem or how he contributed to it. Now failed at Chelsea and Everton because taking a job at any smaller club was beneath him. Surely no Premier League club will give him another job. He’s brought it on himself and nobody has any sympathy. The only dread is, as others have suggested, he will now turn up on our screens as a pundit, talking drivel every week like most of the others employed in that role. Funny how failed managers apparently have all the answers once sitting in a tv studio rather than the dugout!

Acknowledge he did have a spell at Derby before Chelsea, but never amounts much and then when leaving there only had eyes for one of the bigger clubs.

Plus their net spend on transfers over the last 5 years is minus £168M. That’s been helped by some high price sales that hides expensive acquisitions that have flopped. Add in cost of new stadium currently under construction. An awful lot of money to end up being so mediocre Originally posted by Teddy Eagle

Really like Lamps as a footballer, but as a manager has made some suspect decisions, on an off the pitch. I find it hard to judge his managerial skills base on Everton. It is a poisoned chalice. Seen as a big club by many for no real reason, other than a sustained period of success in the 80s. If I were a manager, i wouldn't go anywhere near them

Everton will be just another West Bromwich Albion/Middlesboro/Derby county.....not a big club, and not a small club. just mediocre and boring. Edited by PalazioVecchio (24 Jan 2023 2.06pm)
