The thing is, after we beat Bournemouth - things were looking better.
However, as many on here pointed out, we are now entering a run of games against the top teams, and any points we can get would be a huge bonus.

We dominated the Spurs game in the first half. We matched Chelsea and we were unlucky not to get something out of the game. The same with Southampton. OK, against Fulham we were dreadful…

I agree the lack of an ‘out and out’ leader is plain to see. Wilf just needs to go…he has been awful….

Very happy the stupid videos with the players on the CPFC website have been reduced. Not sure this is the right time to be showing players making fools of themselves….

The only thing I do know is we have to bring back the 12th man tomorrow night…be vocal, be loud, give encouragement and hopefully we may just get a bit of luck…

I have no answers…only observations….

(BOLD) You're in a league populated by every other user on here VH.

I make you right on the rest of your post too must say. I cannot fully condone the going of Wilf, I struggle to envisage it as do I imagine everybody else at the club might however I fear his mind has wandered now and you may be right.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

An accurate observation, I've been saying it for a while.

The irony here should be lost on no one. We are presently owned by the would-have-been owners of Chelsea FC, so we clearly already have owners who COULD improve CPFC. The problem is, they don't want to. Why? That's the million-dollar question because they clearly have an appetite for investing in football, just not at our club.

The simple answer is probably ‘Greed’. Chelsea are a global club/brand - with huge appeal throughout the world. If you invest £200-£300m into the club, you will recoup the money (And more) quite rapidly in shirt sales, merchandise, sponsorship etc…The value of the club increases - as do the share holder’s stakes.

Sadly ….our beloved Palace do not quite have the same attraction/appeal. If you invest £100m in our club, I doubt you will ever get the money back and it would be deemed a poor investment. The new training ground and main stand (soon), will certainly improve our global attraction - but nothing like the big 5 clubs.

You may be right, but if you are our owners are little more than a pair of idiots. We are exactly what we were when they bought us in the first place, possibly slightly better and more valuable today. So one wonders what kind of due diligence they did before buying an asset that appears not to serve their purpose at all. Have they suddenly, unexpectedly, realised to their surprise that they haven't actually purchased a Rolls Royce. When they kicked the tyres, didn't they realise they were looking at a Skoda?

I have followed Palace since 1969 and do not remember or recognise the us and them mentaility that some of you are talking about. We have had a couple of good seasons but in the main we have always been 'also rans'.Money has killed the game for small teams like ours. We cannot compete and the gap will only get wider. This is the real them and us. Them that have and us that don't.

Precisely. The league is made up of 20 teams but that is only to give it the facade of a genuine competition. Perhaps it would be for the best if the mega monied teams f***ed off to their super league.

I wonder if I am evidence of what is to come. Twenty (or even ten) years ago, if there was football on TV, I watched it. All of it and any of it. Full stop. Today, I watch no football whatsoever other than Palace (almost always in person). If we're not playing, I'm not interested. The game as it now holds no appeal at all. It's not interesting. It's not competitive. I don't recognise myself or my values in almost any of the people who populate the game. The sooner the European Super League kicks off and the pollutants at the top of the money tree are removed, the better as far as I'm concerned. Until we get our game back, I'm no longer interested in football; I retain an interest only in Palace.

I think that all the old skills, that Coppell started would still work, direct, quick and aggressive, easier to play, less mistakes at the back, and the Refs are more lenient now than they have for many a year, i would love to see it back, i think Burnley just didnt have the funds

I honestly think the Coppell approach would scare the s@it out of some of these teams. The way teams play now they just wouldn’t know how to deal with it, so used to the tip tap of the last decade they would be lost. I’ve noticed and said this for awhile now.
Not saying it would be a great thing but getting up the pitch fast, getting crosses in and having a striker couldn’t be worse than the limbo we seem to be in now.

Agreed, it wasn't long ago that Leicester won the Premier league with Robert Huth an Wes Morgan at CB, Kante and Drinkwater, two DCM and 29% possession, but with great pace, counter attack football
