And yet despite the way we set up BBC report we’ve set a record-2 consecutive games without a shot on target.Apology s*** with adding links.
Think I know where this could soon end up but don’t want to be the shot messenger. A great shame really cos I like him.

The trouble is that our recruiter-in-chief’s wife is a former ballet dancer, so her influence has resulted in Palace buying artiste-players of undoubted balance, poise and grace but short on grit, tenacity and determination.

Gallagher brought all these latter attributes plus skill, bravery, fantastic powers of acceleration and a great sense of the team being more important than the individual.

In the window, we need to sign players who can get us out of a scrape when we’re chasing the game in front of a hostile crowd on a cold afternoon in midwinter.

The blueprint was set by the do-or-die attitude of Morocco in the World Cup tournament in Qatar.

We need some muscle in the middle of the park, to put some tackles in and leave a mark on the opposition. We are too nice and get rolled over far too easy. It’s really odd because PV was that sort of player.

Could someone explain to me what or style is, all i can see is passing it back and forward among the back four until we either kick it out of play or lose possession in our own half.

This is certainly true for the last two games and for periods of other games too.
The template to play Palace is for the opposition to push up on Doucoure to deny him time on the ball and for the attackers to pin the Palace full backs in their own third so the only option is to pass back.
The usual way to bypass this is to occasionally play long to try and turn the opposition defence.
This appears to be something Vieira is loathe to do, and in any event it’s debatable if we have the players to carry out this approach in particular with just Wilf as lone striker down the middle.
As others have noted we can be easy to play against, but on the other hand we don’t help ourselves with sloppy passing and lack of bite in our play.

I’m no Ayew fan, but he does get stuck in and until Olise can put in the same effort and defensive work then Ayew edges it on the right, certainly for the first 60 minutes.

If you could morph the best attributes of Ayew and Olise you would have a very good player.

Very very correct (apart from not being an Ayew fan) ..and then after the hour mark introduce Olise, exactly the same for Schlupp who is an excellent substitute and should only be used as such.

I’m a massive fan of Schlupp, but have long opined that the directness, fierce shot, athleticism and ability to move the ball forward should be utilised to impact the game. Starting him sort of dilutes these qualities over a longer period and exposes his weaker attributes such as passing range, positioning and tactical nouse which is of detriment to our midfield and our possession based game. Seems a somewhat similar story with Olise too, looks to not have the concentration or athleticism to last a whole match and his individualism is best utilised in a shorter spell.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It is extremely frustrating to say the least, obviously as you know the idea is to stretch the opposition to create space for both us to pass the ball forward and for Anderson to boot it forward which he's very good at, the only problem I can only see is our total inability to get stuck in and win the ball when the ball is there to be challenged.

Ayew has tons of vital experience which he uses well, Olise has none whatsoever and many teams are able to nullify him very easily, he needs to be introduced into a game to build up his experience and then confidence, we are running the huge risk of destroying him.
Exactly the same for Eze.

Yes, stop the ball getting to Doucoure and we are stuffed, Olise and Eze come deep then pass back to the defense, i am praying for Mateta to play, not because he is no more than average, but he is big, aggressive and can hold the ball up better than any option, so Wilf, Olise and Eze can play farther up the pitch

Yes, that's where it goes tits up absolutely, I'm not so sure about leaving a mark on the opposition though because we seem quite adequate at giving away ridiculous freekicks all over the place, I'm more concerned about our players inability to win a loose ball.
