VET : "I'm sorry boys, but it's for the best. I can't let this suffering go on any longer, with the only real outcome are of things getting worse. Off-load to lower leagues or rip up the contract. We can bury the body under the pitch, along with all the others.

I disengage, I turn the page.

He is fit right now though I think. If he's good enough, I don't know. Didn't look out of place the last night but was really just a cameo.

He's been with us for only half a year, and hurt for most of it. Unlike Fergerson he doesn't have a record of being constantly hurt. Personally I thought he played well yesterday, looked composed. Unlike the Man City game where he was responsible for 2 of the goals. But let's give him a chance, he was really talented playing for Dallas, and didn't get a great chance in Germany.

That's a bit like saying Florian Marange was really talented playing for Nancy.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

Richards was money lit on fire. We bought a player who's often injured, from a weak league. When he's not injured, he's not that great. And he plays a position that wasn't a critical need. Other than that, it was great signing.

With the money we wasted on Richards, we could have added it to an offer for an impact player like Gallagher. We seem to be on a trend of spending money on fringe players who are unlikely to ever make any difference for us.

Whenever we buy someone from over the pond I automatically assume that its been to please one or more of the American owners, whether its true or not I dont know - but I have to say I was impressed with the USA team at the WC ( which surprised me) they had several players that looked more than useful -

We're supposed to be interested in Haji Wright. Not sure if he's good enough.

I think he has acquitted himself very well in the last 2 games. He should have done better with the header but he’s in the team to defend and he can certainly do that. Has a little more pace than Clyne or Ward so maybe worth a go at right back when Anderson returns.

My thought exactly.

Agreed he reminds me of a young Nat Clyne

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Seen a few comments on here which seem very reactionary especially now. Some even suggesting he came from a ‘weak league’. He came from Bayern Munich and has a fair number of bundesliga appearances mostly for hoffenheim.

I was sceptical, dubious etc however very pleasantly surprised. At time of transfer, I saw him referred to as an ‘Athletic freak’. There seems to be a lot of truth in this. He also however has decent feet, good positioning/reading of the game and no obvious ego to get in the way of things.

Might be a big if, but if he stays fit could be a fantastic and near genius signing from us. Was bound to be a bit rusty but still thinks he has done very well in there. I’d like him to be a bit more than a fringe player and the suggestion of him at RB I’d be inclined to endorse, enthusiastically actually.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
