20 mph is a nonsense anyway... causes a great deal more pollution... it’s all about raising money hitting the motorists...when are they going to start forcing cyclists to get insurance.... now that’s a great idea...they ride through red lights everywhere...

Only drivers with insurance black boxes and a few people who think they’re being watched everywhere or are minutes from arrest adhere to 20 mph. What comes next for everyone then?….

As one of those that drive 30K miles per year and spend a lot of time in London. I tend to stick to the 20mph limit. If you add this to all of the other money making schemes they have it means that you could lose a months money on one trip. Amusingly, cyclists get the hump when you stick to the 20mph speed limit!!! A colleague got done by the signs below 6 times in one week. (to and from). The blue restricted entry signs at certain times are the latest money maker. Instead of no entry signs they have war and peace printed on them that basically say no though fair during certain times. They have camera's to nick those that aren't able to read them in 0.5 seconds. The worst is the 5 ways at Holburn. There are others in parliament square heading past Parliament. Heading west in the morning see's you fined. Heading east in the afternoon. The latest is straying in to cycle lanes see's you fined. As someone else has said any chance they can stop the C units going though red lights!!!!

i reckon your local supermarket car-Park is more dangerous than a motorway. Certainly in terms of damage to people & cars. The frequency of accidents is surely high ? And as for car parks where children walk....schools, swimming pool etc.....totally deadly. I saw some c..nt doing 30 while blabbing on his phone recently and i felt like throttling the b..stard. He went the wrong way up an one-way in a car park and didnt give a flying f..ck who was wandering about. And probably not even on the radar for speeding points. Pardon the pun.
