Nice to see, that at this moment in time & a post about our new King, in true HOL fashion, this thread has decended into a typical political orientated one hijacked by obvious posters eager to push their agenda's. . .
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Never been a big fan of Charles for a number of reasons. I think the Queen dying can be seen as symbolic of the death of what made Britain great and the cesspit it is rapidly becoming. A tragedy unfolding before our eyes.

I always felt that the Queen didnt have a great deal of faith in Charles given that she declined to relinquish the throne to him at any time during her living years - I may be completely barking up the wrong tree, just my thoughts - Obvs it would be good to see him go on to become one of the great monarchs but I feel time is no longer on his side to leave his stamp on the position & he is in effect just keeping the seat warm for when William takes over - Originally posted by Hrolf The Ganger

It's all about her coronation oath, before god and country she vowed to serve all her life. The queen was very religious asking her to abdicate because she was getting on was never going to happen. Its why the gap between now and Charles's enthronement is so important. Parliament needs to tell him that the monarchy must change and retirement should be seen as normal he should not be allowed to make a similar oath as his mother. Even the Pope retires.

I hear they're going to make the nat́onal anthem gender neutral ... it's going to be God save our gracious monarch and send 'them' victorious. And there are rumours Charles will not use his first name but become King Jamahl I - and the I is for first not like how some Rastafarians refer to themselves. And what's this about Nicholas Witchell committing suicide?

For my tupunce worth, i am a republican, but also had a great respect for the queen, but i don't think Charles will make a good king he is too self-opinionated, and obviously not a man of integrity as his actions towards Diana showed.
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

The 3.6m Vets still alive, swore an allegiance to God, Queen & Country, not sure they will feel the same now. BTW, in your signature, 'Chesty Morgan (for those old enough) was a whole new film genre alongside Debbie & Dallas . . . just saying

I believe Charles's problems are now in the distant past ... 25 years in fact ... and there's no reason why he can't progress to be a good King. He's had plenty of time to prepare for it. I believe he's already stipulated he wants to be 'Defender of Faith' and head a streamlined monarchy. At 73, he'll give it a go but with an eye on the future. It's hard work so Wills and Kate will take some of the load. Also, nice to see Harry and Meghan chipping in today - they've gone up in my estimation.
