Let's hope the twig doesn't break, but this season will be shorter finger nails my friend.

this is a true rivalry thats been going on since the 80s.
does not always need to be local, although id estimate its about 50-60 miles?
i cannot stand the clowns (charlton) millwall are ho-hum.
I live in sussex, the tesco bag boys really hate us & long may it continue.

80's!!!! 1974 was the big one first game of the season in Brighton. But it kicked off the previous season in a "friendly".

The team hasn't got that good feel factor this season, yes we have very good players but how can do a pre season half off first team goes others stay behind, this season just feels like a struggle to stay in the league, I truly wish we stay in the league with my heart, but brain says the drop, let's hope we stay up, if anyone disagree that's there opinions.

There is not a cat in hells chance we will get relegated. have some faith, we have some very good players and a good manager.

It really is quite impressive how many people you randomly eavesdrop on who seem to be discussing our club or players linked with out club or just topics on this site in general.

It's such a breath of fresh air when you get someone sensible posting on the subject of the Brighton rivalry. I live in mid-Sussex and have half a dozen mates who support them and we have a laugh at each other's expense down the pub. That is all...I don't hate them and they don't hate me.

Also, I saw someone post on here that Mullery threw a fistful of coins in the faces of Palace fans... errr no he didn't. One of our lot bunged coffee over him and he threw the coins on the ground saying that was all we were worth... I know I was there.

Me too.

I was also there at those games in that era at the Goldstone. Running battles across Hove Park opposite.

Ironic then than 20 years later, I would not only be living around the corner from that park, but also coaching football there...... for BHA's Football in the Community scheme !

For avoidance of doubt, I was seated in a stand at a local non-league game and these gentleman who came and seated themselves in my vicinity were discussing the Palace v Arsenal game they had watched on television the night before.

The team except Doucoure all played together last season, just because they were separated for 10 days, they are not going to be come strangers.
We have played one game and you are already starting to say we going to get relegated?

We were wondering after the first game last season. Hopefully, we can pick up some points from the tough matches, like we did last season. A draw against Liverpool would be good, a win and we'll all be over the moon.
