Watching in Lanzarote with my sons… hoping we pickup the 2nd half where we left off. I think Zaha has been wasteful today.

Okay...half time: MUCH better! Palace starting to dominate them at the end. That's a positive. Win, lose or draw there's positives here. Probably needed another one or two preseason games with this line-up. But looks like they've finally caught up. All good!

Better last 5 mins, but getting bossed badly in midfield. Would have stated Mateta, he's a threat in the air and would give their CB's something to think about. Move Edouard to the right , Ayew off and bring in another holding midfielder.

Really started out looking rusty. Andersen has been great so far, best player out there imho.
Always felt this was going to be like Chelsea opener last year so not expecting much but looked like we were getting more in the groove as the half progressed.

We look really disorganised and that's not too surprising after the shambles of pre season. Defense has suffered the most especially as players don't seem to know when to step into a tackle or when to back off, they have been cruising through our back lines.

Improvements were obvious as the half went on.. but that's only when we are attacking, we look uncomfortable off the ball and trying to build from the back. The only successful route out of the back has been Andersen's long balls so far. Need the midfield to connect.

Why, right from the kick-off, does Sky seem to be picking up only the fans'noise from the Arsenal section. I can't believe our suporters have been silent throughout, even though we have been pretty poor.

We have been completely dominated.

No surprise really, our midfield is just not good enough.

Doucoure will need to get to the pace of the PL
Schlupp is not a central midfielder
Eze has hardly touched the ball. He is not answer to replacing Gallagher. He might as well be wide right.

Still not convinced on Edouard. As cumbersome as he is, Meteta seems to more of a handful.

I would say we need two midfielders and forward in.

100% accurate, but this Arsenal team will do well this season. Tough game for us.

One thing that has been noticeable, and mentioned on Sky commentary, is that referees aren't going to be as strict on challenges this season.

Zaha needs to realise he won't be getting all those fouls he used to.

I’m in the Main Stand…strange atmosphere…need to get the ground buzzing

First 20 mins it was all Arsenal. Last 10 mins better from the team. Disagree with some, Ayew is working so hard to cover as much of the field as possible. Feel we need JP on to start getting under their skin. He is tall - so should give it s more threat in the air…

Men against boys so far.

We have nobody capable or confident enough to bring the ball out of defence. Eze not getting much of a look-in.

Never mind anything else, if we are getting a new signing then it must be a midfield general.

Yes, that was my team with Eddy Mateta and Zaha up forward. Eddy and Mateta also better at defending set pieces. That was Ayew's missed header (too short) that they scored from. So, with Eddy and Mateta on you have better defending too as well more power and height in attack. But PV keeps playing Ayew...
