Absolutely NOT.
These were supporters of our club, some who are resident in my neck of the woods, others further afield in England and some abroad.

Our defense will be fine, and we'll have more depth than last year. Our attack should be slightly better, as Mateta and even Eduoard can create more problems and finish more consistently than Benteke. We'll be more dangerous if Olise stays healthy, even if he averages only 60 minutes a game. Ayew can still surprise us, and he's useful at drawing fouls in dangerous places.

Midfield is the question mark, but on paper we're overall better and deeper. The uncertainty is how we'll replace Gallagher's energy and spark, though it waned during the second half of last season. Heck, if Tuchel pulls the plug because of the lame Panenka, Chelsea will send him to us because we're not a threat.

I was thinking along these lines. Leeds look poor and I'm not sure about their squad or manager either.

Leeds have sold key players Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha for a total of about £96 Mill.
They have acquired 7 players for a total around that figure, 1 defender, 5 midfielders and a striker.
I readily admit that I know precious little about the players they have signed from abroad, Mattteo is the person who has detailed knowledge of overseas players.

Mattteo hasn't posted here for a year and it isn't hard to guess why.

Well it isn't home.

Someone else can post the team but we have a 17 year old midfielder Ozoh starting.

Here you go son. 65000 crowd, live broadcast, no toilets.

Where did you get that number from? A report I read said 33,000.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Indeed, it was 33,000 or so. The exact figure was announced towards the end of the game.

It was a good learning experience for the young players in the squad and they have gotten more out of these games than from playing a Gillingham or Accrington Stanley!
Phillips and Ozoh in particular stood up well to the physical challenges and Vieira will have learned a lot about these boys.

Went to the game with my 14 year old son and it was good to attend one in person. What did impress me was the intensity of the game. Tackles were flying in and if there was VAR there may have been a sending off. The penalty would probably have been overturned. The good thing from a Palace perspective is the other 1/2 of the squad are winning games in the UK and we will be better when we can pick a team from the full squad. Leeds are going to be in the relegation battle for sure.
Nothing to worry about in my opinion other than Olise has not had a pre season by the looks of things.

I thought this was going to be a thread about being treated like a criminal by the local Leeds establishment, purely because you're an away fan. Like going back in time up there.
