he kept us up in his first season with his goals. without that who knows we could still be in the championship now with no new academy trying not to go to league 1.....

Was dead pleased when we signed him, and as others have said his goals kept us up, so probably worth every penny as such. BUT - He's a spent force and offers us so very, very little despite being paid megabucks. Personally I get the impression he's perfectly happy riding the pine, occasionally score and then strut around like LeBron and would opt for that than having to go and work for a living, so can't see him going anywhere... but I live in hope someone will be stupid enough to buy him.

In terms of money etc... Staying up is worth at least 100 million a season and an extra 2 million per place! I do cut him some slack but do agree he has been rubbish the most part and non existent last season! He should have left a long time ago!

Mateta, Although i don't think he is amazing is the best we have at the moment, 15 starts 6 Goals, maybe Plange may surprise, Eduoard is almost as bad as Benteke, its Wilf or Mateta at the moment for CF with Plange on the bench, hopefully a Striker will arrive to replace Ben & Eddie

On Palace database it says that Mateta has sored 8 in 35 games . When Benteke first came he also scored a lot , it is only when we did not give him the service he requires that the goals dried up .

Credit where its due, he did score 15 PL goals in his first season with us and that certainly helped keep us up that year. After that his contributions have been woeful, he has lost his ability to score, has no vision, he is lazy and not worth his place in the squad. The reported 120K/per week that we still pay him is scandalous and one of SP biggest mistakes was to extend his contract.
