Boris did the right thing kicking the Remain Tory MPs out of the party after they lied to the electorate that was his moment of real courage since then he has backed down and fudged like May.

Mrs May tried to keep the party and country together and satisfied no one with her fudges.

Even if a decent CONservative took over, they would hardly deserve the challange , let alone an opposition government, let him limp on, the public boo at every opportunity, the party split, let him own the brexit fiasco, hungry people won"t be laughing at his peppa, peppa pig act, the winter will see people freeze to death, let him take the flak!

So 148 against that's much more than was anticipated, I thought it would struggle to get past 100. The 211 for will include MPs on the Johnson 'payroll'. And these are his tory colleagues not voters floating or otherwise. What do the public think? The C4 polling 'expert' said that the word associated with Johnson by their interviewing was 'liar' and that 97% of them just did not believe him.

That was much closer than I thought it would be by this evening. It's weird how just a few hours can change how you think things will pan out and then are proved utterly wrong. If somebody had told me that result at 10.00am this morning, I would have believed it more than possible but come 8.00pm, I would have been saying less than 70. Only takes 40 of those MP's to decide to not vote for him in Parliament and it's effectively over. He is on a knife-edge now. "The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. That was much closer than I thought it would be by this evening. It's weird how just a few hours can change how you think things will pan out and then are proved utterly wrong. Of the many stupid things he has done, this was probably the most stupid. Those MPs were acting in the way MPs are supposed to act. They were using their judgement to decide what was in the country's best interest, risking their political future in the process. In short, they were behaving with the integrity so bereft of Johnson. It was then that his total lack of decency and fitness for office was laid bare. Instead of trying to find ways to heal divisions, he widened them and laid down the path that led to today.
