I fear we are not wanting to see reality when it comes to Gallagher.

He has gone back to Chelsea and had talks with Tuchel. Who, it is widely reported, has given him assurances for him playing for Chelsea next season.

Although only `reported` this can be backed up with the circumstantial evidence that Conor pretty much said thanks and goodbye on his Instagram. Further backed up by prior to the talks with Tuchel us and Everton believed to be interested. Since the talks Everton are said to be going after Gilmour instead.

I'd love him back and did mute a long time ago that getting him on again on loan was the most realistic best outcome for us. But reality is he isn't coming. We need to move on and accept it. O'Brien and Doucoure in for me would make me happy.

I'd be happy too if we can get them both over the line.

Really? I rate Schluppy, big time. But class isn't the word that comes to mind. Eze, he's class. Olise too. Schlupp's more of a hard-working, consistent performer who will never really let you down. If we want to push for top 10...players like Schluppy should only really be squad players. But I do like him.

A word often used in football that can be misleading.

For me it has two usages:

1. Class - A player with great skill and ability, who does things others cannot, often drawing 'oooooh's' and 'aaaaaah's'.

2. Class - A player who is very good at their job and an effective constituent of a team.

For me Schlupp is faster than most, stronger than most, more direct than most, can lash the ball better than most, can move with the ball better than most, can jump higher than most, can defend better than other attacking players, more versatile than most and more professional than most.

I am highly biased but I certainly think the Jeffrey is 'class'. I'm seeing that as based on his substance rather than the smoke and mirrors kind which for me can often be an illusion created through flicks and tricks. Schlupp always brings something to games where as the aforementioned always have the potential to be highly ineffective.

That, for me, is class!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

There are not many players who have played in defence, midfield and attack. Schluppy has done all 3 and never looked entirely out of place. A solid versatile player who would slot with ease into any PL side bar the top 6 who also might consider him a useful squad filler.

I think we're mostly all saying the same thing...
