I suspect his options will be: Be central to something exciting at Palace on lots of money or A bit part squad player at one of the 3 clubs in the country that offer CL and genuine trophies chances (probs on less money)

And for the first time we are offering a footballing benefit, not just good wages You could be right but Wilf is not the sort of player to be happy warming the bench. He sulked at Moan United big time. I get that he wants to win things but only if he is seen as a first choice he is better off staying with us and the Big Pat revolution. If we can keep PV and the key players I see only good things. Edited by Badger11 (09 May 2022 12.06pm)

I also don't think he's going to be happy being a bench warmer, but this season Chelsea, Liverpool and Man city will win all the trophies. And he aint a starter there. But to be fair to him there are a lot of good players that also don't start every week, thats the game at the top

Surely the third option is more likely; Move to a top European Club - which he'll have more chance of getting in the starting lineup AND figt for titles AND play in europe. thinking Dortmund/inter/Atletico etc etc.

I may have completely mis-remembered everything I've heard on the matter! I think it will play on Zaha's mind forever the feeling that he could have been something more. Settling for a legendary status here however and being an integral part of a PL dynasty (hopefully) is not too bad though. At his peak, in his prime or what have you, Zaha for me was arguably one of the best wingers in the world, at the very least CL quality. I just don't think he ever had a head on his shoulders, or perhaps a guiding hand, to manage himself correctly through his career. His best days certainly look behind him however he has been the best Palace player of my lifetime and the figurehead of recent success. I hope he stays however if not I hope any move works out well for him. I'd hate for him to, say, have a non-descript, bit-part spell at 'Europa League FC' before realising we've even moved on from him which results in him getting a 1-2 year contract at Bournemouth or somewhere to see out his career unspectacularly. Could very well happen.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Wilf. Olise. Be a shame to see either of them leave but all players are replaceable, I just hope that Dougie has players in mind that could do the job.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Just cant see Wilf moving abroad... couldn't settle in Manchester, couldn't settle in Cardiff. Seams like the type of guy that needs his people around him. Not moving, (potentially by himself) to a country where he doesn't speak the language.

The only place I could see him going in the Prem is Arsenal. He'd fit in well and they're in Europe and probably the CL. Otherwise I think he'll stay here.

Though if he's going to move, I think a move abroad is more likely than one to the top 6.

Could very well happen. Think he went there on Loan from Wolves. I think they have an option to buy, but either barca don't want him, or Wolves want him back. Problem with wilf has always been his end product. Too often he doesn't have one then all of a sudden he'll pull something remarkable out the bag to remind you what he's capable of. Doesn't do it every game though. That's enough for a club like us. Hope not. right now, he's fitting pretty damn well into our team

(Unless Newcastle come sniffing around this window)
