They were going down whoever is in charge. Dyche would have got them up next season - strange decision? Yes, that is spot on

The story I heard yesterday (don't shoot the messenger) was that after Burnley beat Everton 3-2 both Dyche & Duncan Ferguson went out for a drink & after I'm guessing quite a heavy session things turned ugly with an assault on a doorman where the police were then called & arrests were made.

It has been reported that Dyche's relationship with the club and players had grown increasingly strained this season and that the owners hope that a change of manager will improve the atmosphere around the club but I cannot assert with any great certainty that this is accurate.

Caretaker manager Jackson has now earned 7 points from the last 3 games for Burnley and the task facing a hopeless Everton to avoid the drop is increasingly becoming mission impossible.

If he was indeed part of a drunken melee that may well have been manna from heaven for Burnley’s owners. Breach of contract and dismissal without compensation perhaps

Clearly Burnley do not need this well known relegation fire fighter, but perhaps he could produce some magic at Everton, who are in need of a miracle to survive.

I do not think their situation is as dire as has been suggested but of course there must be a great deal of disquiet amongst their supporters.

They'd be quite a dream team for some sort of violent rampage. Big Dunc to beat someone to death and Dyche's concrete mixer throat to dispose of the body. Burnley look resurgent, I think the real fear is for Everton now. Many people look forward to a nice retirement, perhaps somewhere warm, bit of travelling, exploring new interests etc. I look forward to sitting in a dingy old boozer reminiscing with someone in a similar situation to me about the day Frank Lampard got Everton relegated, that's the dream for now anyway. Everton's next few fixtures are tough but after that there is certainly potential for the 'picking up of points'. If we were in some way to play any part in their demise, I shall dine on that for eternity!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Luckily that never happened as I gave up the drink and then realised my mates weren't mates but drinking companions (I don't miss them). Anyway I retired caught the travel bug and love my life now. The only thing stopping me travel all the time is money but 3/4 times a year isn't bad. There is more to life than a dingy old pub.
