A cnut of the first order. I’ve met him a fair few times and talked with him at length on a couple of those. I’ve always found him to be thoroughly decent. Genuine, very funny, a hard worker for the Help for Heroes cause and down to earth.

Jim has been vilified by the media and yet his opinions are moderate and sensible on most issues. Follow the links..... Edited by PalazioVecchio (16 Mar 2022 7.23pm)

Actually, I think he was/is a good comedian and decent bloke. I saw him many years ago before he was famous, comparing a stag night at Selhurst Park - very funny, as was 'Bollocks the Bear', known later as 'Nooky the Bear'.

It's a mixed picture with Jim Davidson. I certainly respect his work for the armed forces, and don't dislike some of his comedy. If you're commenting on my jokey (you know.. jokes.. controversy.. jokes.. like a comedian does!) comments regarding his wife beating, it's all on record. An ex wife says that he kicked her down the chairs, bruised her ribs, gave her black eyes and was violent on several occasions. He acknowledges giving her a black eye multiple times, in his autobiography, but plays it off as a laugh "poked her in the eye" "second time i gave her a shiner.. that she kept blackening up to make it look worse". People can make their own minds up and I had no interest in stating details, but since you asked. I wasn't there so who knows, but it's not exactly a character reference. People are well within their rights to take the good with the bad mind you. Not so much to imagine away what they don't like to hear. I certainly find the false sexual assault claims made against him and some others 70s stars repugnant though. The same aimed at Freddie Starr essentially finished him off.
