Apart from the fact that Chelsea can't sell players until July what would happen to the proceeds of sale? This sanction has been very poorly thought out and seems like a knee jerk reaction to get Starmer off Boris's back and I have no doubt that it will be quietly amended shortly I would agree ,the sanction as it stands is unworkable in the long term . Chelsea will be skint within a month if they cant generate any cash let alone the reported £28M wage bill . They need to offload players from the wage bill as soon as the window opens There is no way the government will want to be in any way responsible for the collapes of a major football club even if they are that because of Russian money .

I would feel sorry for nearly any team going out of business. I was even supportive of Brighton and Charlton when they hit hard times. After all, we know what it's like as supporters. However, Chelsea - I don't feel any sympathy towards. I'm not relishing it, I just don't care. Probably because every Chelsea fan I've ever met is a c***.

I think it is unlikely that the Government will liquidate his assets in short term they have frozen them. If they feel that they will liquidate them in long term they will want best price and allowing Chelsea to go bust will not do that. For this reason they will not want to block income streams and once they work out a way it will happen Paying wages till end of season will have to be sorted for same reason Out of Contract players or buying new players is more of a problem as this requires money going out and that maybe dependent on New owner. Possibly the FA or PFA could take over running club in short term? Its all about making sure Abromovitch can not access any money

No sympathy whatsoever for Chelsea who have bought their way to glory on Abramovitch's blood money. Great article in the Times by Matt Dickinson today implying that many Chelsea fans have no conscience or responsibility as instanced by their disgraceful chanting duting the minute's applauding for Ukraine at Burnley and repeated during yesterday's match at Norwich. I have a few genuine Chelsea supporting friends but agree with someone on here that most of their fans are thugs as I experienced on a train from Thornton Heath to Balham in the sixties.

Couldn't agree more, Uphill. I'm sure Chelsea has a cohort of decent fans, but it has a big yob contingent and just an army of glory-hunters. I'd like Chelsea to go out of business. And every other club that is owned by billionaires who support tyrants. And if the quality of Premiership football as a whole is diminished, at least it will have got its soul back. A more even playing field can only be good for the game in the long run. Originally posted by Elwissthebest

Harris and Blitzer have officially made a bid for Chelsea, it would seem. Not sure what the general view on this has been but I feel quite strongly now that even if their bid should fail, they should sell their shares in Palace. We don't need owners / part-owners who aren't completely committed to the club.

They have been trying to sale their shares for the past 2 years, that is not a secret so if they want to go fine. They will have a problem though they cannot own 2 PL clubs unless they have a smoke and mirrors ownership such as their wives own one club. I suspect their bid will fail because the Chelsea administrator will realise it will be problematic getting PL approval unless they have found a buyer for Palace already. They are not the only game in town so there are plenty of other bidders who won't have that problem.

Textor? He does seem more interested in the club so hopefully yes. I think Blitzer and Harris have been a huge disappointment for us we had the fan fare that they were going to fund the stadium rebuild and nothing has happened. The remaining obstacles building 6 house and buying a strip of land from Sainsbury are hardly major hurdles so I now think it was all BS from them I think they have put very little into the club. Textor does seem a better choice at this stage although I would prefer to have multiple owners, Chelsea being an example of what happens if you rely on one person.
