While some of the OP’s opinions may seem extreme, it’s not to say there may not be a kernel of truth in some of them. I don't think anyone is saying that Vieira could improve but equally we don't need a new thread every time Lanzo wants to rephrase the same opinion he's already shared 500 times. I'd also suggest debating these things is perfectly reasonable, but phrases like "maybe PV has done his job and now we need a good manager" and "11th is just about as bad as we could have done" just destroy any credibility. No one is going to have a serious discussion with someone posting s***e like that. For what it's worth, I think Eze and Edouard can both feel a little hard done by that they haven't seen more opportunities of late, but equally I don't think either have done anything to make themselves undroppable when the chances have come along. Eze in particular has played poorly when given minutes.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I can't agree with Lanzo's post - like many others I would have been delighted if you'd told me before the season that at this point we'd be 11th and in the cup QF. But I do think there are some concerns. In my view we have gone backwards since the early part of the season. The problems (conceding late goals, unable to defend set pieces) haven't been resolved and some of the good bits (energetic pressing game, some fast attacks) have got worse. Still supportive of PV and far happier than I thought I'd be at this point, but slightly worried that he and his coaching team aren't learning whereas the opposition have worked us out, and also unconvinced by apparent switch in selection and tactics from game to game.

How I feel! Well summed up.

Earlier in the season many were crying out for more Olise, Benteke to be dropped, Clyne to replace Ward, Hughes to be given game time, youth team players to be given a chance. PV has done all of this. So what have we learned: Olise has the potential to be our next Wilf. Not the finished article by any stretch of the imagination but the potential is there. Regarding Eze and Eduard. These points are yet to be addressed. I thought Eduard played well off the left when Wilf was away at Afcon. Trouble is he won’t start ahead of Wilf. Maybe he gets his turn down the middle in due course if Mateta doesn’t work out.
