Never had a physical fight in my life. I think that anyone who believes that disputes can be settled with violence is an idiot, so I always avoid it. Believing yourself to be "macho", which some here obviously do, is far from a strength. It's a very obvious sign of a significant weakness of the mind. So you would have just had a nice chat with Herr Hitler?

If you spoke to people face to face as you do on here you'd be no stranger to physical confrontation. A man is designed to be a hunter, violence is part of his nature.

The way things are going, with so many moving here to enjoy the delights of countryside, coast, superfast broadband, Newquay airport, working from home and pasties, Cornwall is tomorrow's England. Yesterday's Cornwall was fishing and mining.

I don't remember Gabriel singing it's a knockout. Did it turn out that anyone was a paedo or is that 70s/80s TV a safe space? Peter Gabriel DID sing the words "It's a Knockout" in the song 'Games Without Frontieres' but he DIDN'T sing the words "Jeux Sans Frontieres". Sorry but I don't quite understand your second sentence, beyond an undoubted reference to Stuart Hall.

Was not expecting that one. It's not about you - Gerard Butler, good voice, poor action film guy now. May as well wheel out Eastwood for a fight. Better shape. I watched Angel has Fallen last night and fell asleep. Whatever the f*** was supposed to be going on, I just didn't care. You can be Butler if you like. I'd rather Gary Oldman.

A man is designed to be a hunter, violence is part of his nature. Human behaviour, like everything, evolves to suit its environment. We no longer live in caves, and need to club our neighbours to settle arguments. Some of us have learned that, and moved on. Obviously some haven't.

Willo, Stirling and Jacob Rees-Mogg! What a delightful image of yesterday's England. 3 men in a boat, drifting gently down the Thames in a boat without any sense of direction, purpose or expectation, tipping hats to each other in mutual admiration, whilst condemning anyone without their myopia. I would be delighted to join such estimable and urbane gentlemen on a galleon in full sail leaving the drifting "EU" barge to others. I will now concentrate my efforts on the football discussions!

Yes, I did wonder if anyone from it's a knockout was a close friend of Sir Jimmy, like so many others of the era. Can't remember much about Stuart Hall, get this feeling there was something. And with all those inflatables about it doesn't bare thinking about.

But he couldn't have played Leonidas, or even a Spartan in 300. Both have their place I suppose. Butler has made plenty of crap films since....gone for the easy money.
