Well, predictably, England thrashed Italy yesterday. Star man Marcus Smith played his socks off and quite rightly was awarded MOTM. Just goes to show what a 22 yr old can do if they're good enough and given the opportunity.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I understood that the Six Nations was originally intended as a competition for the home nations. Then it developed to embrace our European friends, France and Italy. Italy have not proved to be strong competitors so the talk now is to replace Italy with South Africa. Why is that? I don't get it. Anyone out there better informed than me?

Wales made the French work really hard for their win last night. Very unlucky not to score a try, but unfortunately it was not to be. Have to hope England can stop France winning the grand slam.

I'm not better informed than you, but as with all such ideas in world sport it's about financial greed (just look at the European Super League idea). South Africa would get their snouts in a lucrative trough and the others would benefit from an enhanced level of competition, bringing bigger crowds and higher ticket prices.

It’s a bit of a sad thing to say, but I’m loving Englands socks, they’re very mid-7O’s Palace
