Update on Donny van de Beek. Crystal Palace have submitted straight loan proposal tonight - it's now a direct negotiation with Man United. There are also other clubs interested. Red circle #CPFC

Manchester United want full salary paid until June to let him leave - no buy option. #MUFC
This would be a much better than bring in Aaron Ramsey if Place could get it over the line.

Don't think they could. Hughes Gallagher and Vdb are great ballers but would get slaughtered against more physical teams. Need the presence of a Kouyate or Luka in there too.

And to answer your other question, you forget a little guy called Eze...who's our future at 10 (hopefully).

Look, I wouldn't mind getting him in. Obvious quality. Just think there are other areas that need strengthening more...a quality left back to compete with Mitchell, for a start.

This.

DvB is really an attacking mid and would compete with Eze probs. Would much prefer cover/strengthening at full back or CDM - both areas where we are short.

Yes for me.

Guy has been destroyed at United, but is seriously good.

If we can get him we should, then let Pat work out how to fit him in

As much as I love Eze, he's not looked the same player since his injury. It will of course take time, but there's no guarantee he'll get back to the level he was at before. Sadly there's no room for sentiment and if we had the Cup Final tomorrow, you'd take DVB over Eze for sure. I personally see Eze as a wide player who can cut in rather than and out and out number 10.

I agree that we'd need Kouyate in there too against physical sides, but having Gallagher, Hughes and DVB competing for two spots and having the option to bring one of them off the bench will give us something extra.

I'm assuming this is instead of Ramsey I no nothing about the guy I I trust PV to know a good midfielder when he see one.

If we get this one I think that will be it I can't see us signing a striker this window.

Genuine question because alot are mentioning Eze as competition, when was the last time he played CAM and how much has he actually been there for us? Roy never played a CAM and he's been on the wing since returning from injury.

He was playing in the middle prior to his injury and that was when we started to see the best of him. When he was playing on the left and cutting in he would disappear from games. So far Vieira hasn't played him in the middle and he has once again looked on the periphery. For me he is the most talented player at the club, but he had a serious injury and no pre-season and given our position there is no pressure to rush him back. I've said it before, but go on YouTube and look at a three-minute reel of last season's Eze highlights. It'll instantly remind you of what a special player he is.

I wonder if the fact that we are in for him means the prognosis on Macca is not good and could be out long term
