What you appear to be suggesting is putting our U23 players into the First Team just for the sake of it. Which if that is the case is ludicrous. was putting AWB and Mitchell ludicrous too

I think we need to trust PV on this. Priority is staying up which is looking good at the moment, but stick a couple of youngsters in and it doesn't work then we could get on a bad run. Everyone wants to see some of these guys blooded in the first team but I reckon PV will only do that when either forced to (ie injuries or COVID) or when we are guaranteed prem football again next season.

Nobody knows until they get a chance AWB and Mitchell only got their chances through injuries not outstanding U23 performances They WERE outstanding in the under 23’s, that’s the point, if they were no good, despite injuries they still wouldn’t have been thrown in at the deep end, you know how it works, someone in the 1st team squad would’ve been played out of position.

Exactly!! Let’s be honest, apart from the occasional gem we uncover I.e zaha, wan bissaka and Mitchell, most of our so called highly rated youngsters will end up where they usually do, playing in the lower leagues or non-league because they’re simply not good enough. Obviously now the academy has gone up a level, we’ll be hoping for a more regular supply of youngsters good enough for the top flight I always looked at the academy as a small financial stream, when not unearthing gems. Couple of lads get signed on, then sold to lower leagues - just generates income to keep it ticking over - also gets kids off the streets at an early age and impacts the community more.

What are you talking about, the day AWB made his debut our CH were Fosu-mensah and tomkins, and the bench was Henry, Dalaney (injured),Soare, Lee chuung, Rakip, Kirby and Lokiilo, he played not because he wa OUTSTANDING we had nobody else, thats how you find if the younger players can hack it
